A trip around the football nation

One aspect I enjoy being apart of the Sports Blog Nation is that fans like me get to chat and lead discussions in regards to their team.  So I wanted to take a trip around the football "Nation".

The player listing on Stampede Blue is only in alphabetical order. So, I conisder Palmer a top 10 player in line with players like Harrison, Manning, Brady, etc. I don't lke ranking players 1-50. So, I put them in brackets: 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, etc.

Just wanted to clarify. And Palmer deserves the love. He just too good to not leave off a top ten list.

Gotcha
The best part, no Steelers in the top ten. :-)

LOL
But two Steelers are in the top 20. Sorry. :)

Damn
Yea, I saw that afterwards.  I guess you have to show some form of fairness.  Hines is a good WR and Troy is, well, a thorn in our side.

Just FYI
Chad Johnson is in the top 50 as well, for obvious reasons. I'm a little torn re: Rudi. I think he's a damn fine back, but I'm not sure he is a difference maker.

RE: Rudi
I understand that. Rudi is probably the least profiled skills player on our offense. His contributions are awesome, but at the same time, there's many a plays with me cursing because Rudi couldn't convert that 3rd and 1, for the 50th time in the game. His contributions are probably more vital than any other player on the team; besides the linemen and Carson of course. At the same time, by himself, I don't think he's one of the top 50 either. Trust me, even some in the Bengals fan base wish to use him as trade bait so being a little torn on it is a little understandable with a lot of negative sentiment among the fan base of the team he plays for.

No o-line?
C'mon...whatever Palmer may be, he wouldn't be that without guys like Anderson and Jones...and I think that goes for the rest of the league. A top 10 list with no room for Ogden or Pace, etc.? Boo!

Football is all about the trenches, folks...

Willie Anderson
is in the top 50, no question. That man is a beast.

Pace and Ogden
Are indeed top 50. Top 10? Come on!

Who should I have bumped? Manning? Brady? Stahan?

Please.

Pace and Ogden are indeed great, but they are not Tomlinson great.

Freeney & Bailey
Neither Dwight nor Champ deserve top 10 status. Bailey has slipped to just average/above average since moving to Denver, and Freeney in a one-trick pony. Admittedly, it's a good trick, but if you've got a tackle who can handle his spin move then he can be neutralized.

RE: Freeney
JC, I think you're a little spoiled in the fact that Levi Jones OWNED Freeney last season. Heh. I think Pace and Ogden, while great in their heyday, have gotten a little older and perhaps lost a little versatility. Heck would I be too much of a homer and suggest Jones is playing better than both now simply because of his age? Well, probably. :-D

RE: Freeney
I think Freeney's a great player, just not in the top 10. Honestly, I wouldn't even rank Palmer in the top 10, either, at least not right now. He has the potential to be...but one winning season does not a career make.
