Around SBN: Jeremy Lin's Game-Winner Was Incredible, Worth Remembering

Corey Lynch Nominated for Rookie of the Week

Bengals rookie safety Corey Lynch is nominated for week six's Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week. The nomination is made primarily after Lynch secured his first interception in the 26-14 loss against the New York Jets.

Other nominations are:

  • Tampa Bay’s GENO HAYES made three tackles, defensed a pass, and blocked a punt and returned the ball 22 yards for a touchdown in the Buccaneers’ 27 – 3 win over the Carolina Panthers.
  • Philadelphia’s DE SEAN JACKSON led the Eagles with 98 yards over six receptions in the Eagles’ 40 – 26 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
  • St. Louis’ CHRIS LONG made three tackles and recovered a fumble to help the Rams get their first win of the year beating the Washington Redskins 19 – 17.
  • Atlanta’s MATT RYAN completed 22 of 30 passes for 301 yards and one touchdown against a tough Bears defense in the Falcons’ 22 – 20 win over Chicago. Ryan posted his first career 300-yard passing game and threw a perfect pass to WR Michael Jenkins to set up the game-winning field goal with one second remaining on the clock.

Go here to vote for Lynch.

The Award will announced on Friday afternoon.

I like Corey Lynch

and all, but stumbling into a pass defensed by Joseph and returning it six or seven yards, hardly seems to qualify for special recognition except from teammates, Billy Graham, himself, and the ball on Corey’s mantle at home. Or is this one of those participation awards so no one’s feelings get hurt? Ryan by a landslide.

Jackson's first name is DE SEAN

I’m not sure if there was supposed to be a space in there or not but it certainly wasn’t intended to misposition the Eagles’ wideout/returner- especially since the sentence follows; “…led the Eagles with 98 yards over six receptions…” Hmm?

Settle down

I got the copy from the NFL. I didn’t write, nor edit, any of it.
