I gotta tell ya...

Yea, me too.

But I do think that they’ll win. Texans defense is pretty bad (at least based on the rankings), so it might be the confidence-building game that our offense needs for the second-half of the season.

I am concerned about...

Slaton and Walters…….Slaton seems to be a great runner, and we can’t stop them that well, and Walter is going to come back to haunt us, as all old Bengals do.
If we had Palmer, I would be very confident.

by Sloppygolf on Oct 26, 2008 3:29 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Hopefully

The Bengals rushing game can counter that. The Texans rush defense allows 122 yards per game, ranked 22nd in the NFL. We HAVE to improve our 72 yards-rushing per game average. This could be that type of game where Benson breaks out. Perhaps wishful thinking.

I’m really worried how our defense does against Slaton.

After last night’s loss to Penn State, and UC having their own self-destructive fourth quarter, I’m not so sure sanity is an option this week. However, I did hear that the Reds might make a contract offer for David Weathers. So all won’t be lost this week, no matter today’s outcome.

That shot of Pryor with his head down on the bench was striking...

He is a hell of a player. I thought it was classy that some of the seniors came back to get him up off the bench. He plays so well that sometimes the fans forget he is true freshman. It was disappointing, mainly because Penn State really isn’t that good. Oh well, OSU will be back next year.

First Possession and a Texans TD

After Benson runs to the left, stretch-like behind Levi Jones and Reggie Kelly for only a yard, Fitzpatrick on second down is forced to run after looking at his first option and scrambling on his own.

On third down, Fitzpatrick hits Chris Henry on a slant to the right. They spotted it short of a first down.

Then the Texans return a punt for a touchdown.

Bengals losing, 7-0. Go Bengals.

Another first down.

After Benson picked up five yards with decent blocking, Fitzpatrick picked up 2-3 yards scrambling — not even sure if he looked for someone. Then T.J. runs to the first down marker again, this time Fitz hitting T.J. in stride and picking up eight yards.

Nice. That’s the 19th first down picked up by T.J.

THis is a game the Bengals could win...

and they won’t because they have NO mental fortitude. Good teams actually make some plays when needed.

First and Ten - HOU39

Fitz, under center, hands off to Benson, running to the right, makes about three guys miss a tackle, finally twisted down after six yards. Actually it was a really good run.

Second and Two - HOU14 (1:03 left and two time outs left)

Fitz, under center, throws it up down the right sidelines. Chad had the DB, dove with the ball in his hands, and can’t haul in the pass. Jesus. He SHOULD catch that.

I thought that looked catchable too

It bounced off the fingertips, but his arms were not out

Third and Two

Fitz under center, throws to T.J. running a yard behind the first down marker, going towards the right sidelines. Robinson had a step and should have picked it.

This is only the second time, ALL SEASON, that the Texans prevent a team from scoring a TD in the redzone.
