Palmer is starting

Hobson: “Palmer came out and warmed up in sweats, something he didn’t do last week when Ryan Fitzpatrick played against Cleveland.”

Curnutte: "Carson Palmer will start at quarterback today for the Bengals. He is stretching his legs and hips at the goal line at this point at Texas Stadium.

apathy is almost setting in

I sure wouldnt want to be Carson Palmer’s mother this afternoon, ACK!

Odds of:

CP being bloody by halftime? Even money

Slim 15 catching a deep ball? 3-1

Ocho Cinco catching a td? 8-1

Utect dropping a ball? 2-1 (IF carson throws to him)

Im really, really disappointed the Bengals turned down two draft pics for Chad this past offseason, ESPECIALLY considering they drafted two WR’s early.

Predictions.

Not actually scores, but what do you predict?

I think that the Bengals will be competitive, and the offense will improve over the game they had with the Giants. I don’t think we’ll see much of Chris Henry, but I do think that the Bengals will stretch the field more.

Defensively, I think we’ll struggle against the pass, but do well against the run early in the game.

I think the Bengals lose by less than a TD. Am I too optimistic?

yup

Bengals lose by 20+. I hate, hate to type that but that is honestly how i feel. The offensive line is a sieve, the running game isnt established, the defensive line gets no push.

But Shayne Graham and the linebackers look good.

This season is weird -

It shocks me to see crappy teams like the Ravens and Redskins somehow winning tough games and good teams, like the Colts and Chargers sucking majorly.

Only six teams in the AFC have winning records.

Actually, only 11 teams in the NFL have winning records. Through week four, that’s nuts.

The Skins just clinched the game in Philly. This next week will be my own personal hell, living in the Washington DC area. I’ll have to endure idiotic ’skins fans talking about how they are going to win the super bowl. And how good Chris Cooley is. Gotta love the referre who's right on top of the play

He’s looking to refs who are no where near the play to make the call for him.

Dang!

His second foot isn’t in.

Plus, I think we should go for it.

Six yards to go. Can’t trust our Defense right now.

Give the Texan (Benson) a big WhoDey!!

by txbengalfan on Oct 5, 2008 5:15 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

He could light a fire on this rush offense

Six rushes, 25 yards. Just over four yards a rush.

Rush/Pass by the Bengals offense

Eight passes (three complete) for 28 yards
Nine rushes (six by Benson, three by Perry), for 30 yards.

Come on D!

The Bengals might be at the edge of the cliff, but they’re a least pushing back.

I know that.

WR was a quick way of saying people that are catching passes. My bad.

alright just got to the game

and they aren’t doing as well as i thought they would be. Let me guess, no pass rush, always one cowboy receiver open, and we’re getting 2.3 yards per carry?

by mskiles314 on Oct 5, 2008 5:27 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Long third down converted.

After incomplete, nearly picked off, and a three-yard pass attempt to T.J. who drops the pass, Palmer, on third and ten hits Chatman for good long-third-down gain. Nice. Chatman ran a crossing pattern with Anthony Henry covering.

I must not know anything about football

Because I cannot fathom why they are wasting offensive plays on Chris Perry.

Ugh

Chad was wide open on that one

by Brian B on Oct 5, 2008 5:35 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

What a play!!!

1) Romo picks up the first down, but has the ball stripped.
2) Fletcher picks up the ball, returns it. Personal foul on Barber for face mask.

Perry was wide open...

Probably gains a first down, if not a TD.

I think Scott Covington could have made that throw.

Though the Bengals are looking better...

They’ve already lost the game by not taking advantage of opportunities. Just like last week. Just like the week before. Gaaah.
