Pollack's Announcement has No Timetable
We can't understand what David Pollack is confronted with. Not many people have the opportunity to make life-changing choices -- a reset button of sorts. The announcement won't come indefinitely. But his decision to play or retire could be very soon.
The former Bengals linebacker, who suffered a fractured C6 vertebra during a September 2006 game and has not played since, had told The Enquirer that an appointment Friday would be pivotal in his decision-making process.
There is no timetable for Pollack's announcement.

Do we really thing Pollack is coming back?
As long as Pollack keeps up the possibility of returning to the playing field the Bengals can't take back his signing bonus. They are forced to keep paying him his base salary, or cutting him and absorbing the cap hit of the remaining prorated portion of his signing bonus.
If they cut him he keeps the money because it was guaranteed. If he retires he has to give back the prorated portion of his signing bonus.
As great of a story as it would be to have Pollack return, and as helpful as he might be to the Bengals defense, I consider it a more likely possibility that David Pollack has already decided he's never playing in the NFL again, and is just laying low so he can keep all his signing bonus. And honestly, I think he deserves it.
