Bengals release Chris Henry -- adios, idiot.

It took some time, with the unquestionable aggravation that the Bengals front office and coaching staff must have, the Bengals finally released Chris Henry. Mike Brown, typically a behind the scenes guy anymore, released the following statement:

"Chris Henry has forfeited his opportunity to pursue a career with the Bengals. His conduct can no longer be tolerated.

"The Bengals tried for an extended period of time to support Chris and his potentially bright career. We had hoped to guide him toward an appropriate standard of personal responsibility that this community would support and that would allow him to play in the NFL. We acknowledge those fans who had concerns about Chris; at the same time we tried to help a young man.

"But those efforts end today, as we move on with what is best for our team."

All I have to say is:

GOOD

I dunno, I like "adios, idiot" better...but that's just me.

PS is it too late to change your pick from Rivers to Malcolm Kelly?

RE:
No kidding. I still think the Bengals go defense in the first round, but WR in the second. But I'm so convinced that Chad is going to get traded to the Cowboys and the Bengals get their #28 pick, that we'll use that for a WR.

I'm convinced because I keep telling myself that fake reality. Hey, it makes sense to me. :)

Seriously...
...I actually do doubt they go WR in the first, unless they trade down. 9 is just too high. But I would now say no later than 3rd...and that between their two 3rd and their 4th we could see 2 wideouts picked. App State's Dexter Jackson is an intriguing possibility in that range; would help the return game too...

way overdue
Finally and good riddance.  And I agree with above--all of a sudden drafting a receiver earlier rather than later is looking good.

It's about time
Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, Henry.

Henry
Bob Trumpy always used to jokingly say that one of the best things about the NFL was that it kept a lot of people out of prison.  Henry is definitely one of those types of people he was talking about.

Dear Chris Henry,
Have fun spending the rest of your life in and out of jail and one day realizing that you had talents that most people would die for and you did nothing with them.

Sincerely,

Everyone

Send a message
Henry, you're gone.  Next step, trade Chad.  I'm willing to take the steps backwards at this point.  We wanted to focus on the running game so get a RB and focus on it.  Sign/draft other receivers who aren't Antonio Chatman.

Leadership
Thank god the Bengals finally cut ties with the hoodlums of the Bengals.  Next step is the Bengals sit down Chad and tell him he needs to get off the radio, get of TV, get off his degree webisodes and start training so that he can get what he wants TO BE PART OF A WINNING TEAM.  Everyone needs to start leading by example starting with our team leaders.
