Friday morning links and notes
It's expected today that the prosecution will rest in the Jason Shirley case. The defense will introduce the Fresno State team physician supporting Shirley's concussion. Two basketball players will also testify for the defense.
Apparently T.J. Houshmandzadeh is longing to get back on the field during the final set of OTAs while he'll be in town for a football clinic. From a perception stand-point, he should be here to lead the crop of rookie receivers since Chatman and Holt are the veterans of the group.
Matt Miller thinks we're going 6-10 in 2008 swept by the Ravens and Steelers.
Ever wonder what Marvin Lewis' IRS account looks like? Someone did, and probably going bye bye.
Jerrid Gaines and I have something in common. We both like the Bengals better than the Browns.

First off, I don’t think Moeller High School could get swept by the Ravens this coming season. Second, I think we go home and home for a split with Cleveland and actually sweep the Steelers- they’re really not that good, especially missing Faneca. It’s the NFC East that worries me more than our own division, though a split- losses to Dallas and New York, wins over Philly and the Skins. That gives us 7-3, who else do we play? Wins against both Tennessee and the Jets, a loss to the Jags and a win at Houston, and a loss to Indy and a beat down on the Chiefs- assuming they don’t bring Jared Allen in to punk Levi. That’s what? 11-5? That’s better than I was thinking before I looked at it on paper.
With Chad off the reservation and Chris Henry beating kids up for lunch money at some backwoods McDonalds, TJ really needs to step up. Hell, he should have been here for the rookie camp and all the OTAs, in his new role as putative number one receiver and most veteran member of that corps. . There’s six rookies- seven if you count the inexperienced Maxwell, that need looking after.
