Monday morning links and notes
We might be tired of Chad Johnson, but at least we're not fans frustrated at a guy like Jason Taylor.
Marvin Lewis is quick to respond about a Shaun Alexander possibility in Cincinnati. The one-word answer asked if Alexander could be in Cincinnati, "No."
Chick Ludwig believes that James Johnson has the lead over DeDe Dorsey and Chris Perry for that number three running back spot.
A bit weird: In the past week, a guy named Marvin Lewis and a guy named Chad Johnson have gotten into serious trouble; no, it's not the two you know.
There's a post about Willie Anderson here. Since the site requires registration, I choose not to and moved on. I hate one-time registrations for a website that I probably won't go back to, ever.

I Can Understand ...
people’s frustrations with Chris Perry. Perfectly understandable. But I’m a bit surprised by (according to some of Ludwig’s commentors) fans questioning his talent. Perry was a very instrutmental piece of that success in 2005 … and when healthy brings a unique skillset to the O. Perry is this Bengals generation’s James Brooks … when healthy. If Perry truly is health, and stays healthy, he plays a lot. And if he’s 100% healthy, by mid-season he may be challenging Rudi for No. 1.

Agreed.
Even more so, I’d add that if Perry can’t stay healthy, our offense struggles. But I also don’t think he’d win the number one job—if Rudi struggles, I’d think they’d give that to Kenny Watson and keep Perry as the third-down back that also lines up wide as a receiver (obviously in four-WR sets).
First, we have to get past that hurdle of staying healthy. LOL!
