After jurors deliberated until noon Thursday, the result was deadlock. Usually when a jury can't reach a verdict, the case ends with a mistrial. The jurors are now dismissed and one of two things can happen. Either there's a new trial or the charges are dropped. No word on either has been announced.

But if a new trial starts up, then this whole process begins again but no new filings are required.. If the charges are dropped then, well, you know the rest.

For the time being, we're waiting on the prosecution. Until then, Shirley is free to join the team for workouts.
