Shirley's attorney attempting 90-day postponement

PrintJason Shirley's lawyer, Charles Magill, argued in a brief court hearing Monday that he's still trying to obtain a transcript of the first trial and that he won't have time to review it before Shirley's scheduled trial set to begin August 27. Magill thinks a 90-day postponement from the August 27 trial, "might be reasonable."
In June, Magill tried to postpone the re-trial until after the 2008 NFL season to allow Shirley to establish his NFL career. The judge postponed the retrial from June 25 to August 27.
