The Pro Football Weekly guys claim they heard from a "source close to the club" that Jeremi Johnson has reshaped his body so much, that his job is "unlikely to be in danger". We're not sure if this bodes badly for Daniel Coats -- which we believe the team can't keep both -- or what not, but it would appear that Johnson is close to saving his job. And we have to admit, weighing between a slimmer than off-season Jeremi Johnson against Coats, Jeremi would be the better option.
As far as we know, Jeremi is still on the PUP and ineligible to perform in any games until he's taken off that list.
Jeremi Johnson is scheduled to make $950,000 this season, a cool million in 2009 and $1.1 million and $1.4 million before becoming a free agent after the 2011 season.
