NFL.com is reporting that newly free-agent running back Rudi Johnson is visiting the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night. The Lions also claimed running back Marcus Thomas off waivers, though placed Brian Calhoun and Aveion Cason on IR.
On the depth chart of the Detroit Lions' official website, rookie running back (Central Florida) Kevin Smith is starting over Tatum Bell with newly acquired Thomas as the third back. Johnson, along with Willie Anderson and Deltha O'Neal, were veteran Pro Bowl players released by the Bengals on Saturday.
