Bengals Inevitable Collapse?

Just caught this on yahoo.  I guess the Bengals don't have the character to keep their good season going and its Odell Thurman's fault (well and Chris Henry's, Rey Maualuga's, Tank Johnson's, Bernard Scott's) In other words we are just one late night drinking binge from collapse. What? No props for Cedric "party boat" Benson? What? What?

If I were to question the Bengals ability to sustain this season, I would focus more on the weaknesses of the team on the field than whether or not Bernard Scott might pick a bar fight.  I suppose it isn't surprising, the Bengals are the poster child for the "bad NFL team"--partially deserved I suppose, but pretty lame as well.

Have the Bengals turned the corner? Always cautious I'm taking it one week at a time---not because I'm waiting for Chris Henry to pull a gun, but because the Bengals, although have proven a lot, still have more to prove and not the easiest schedule to  prove it.  The Cardiac Cats are great, and its comforting to know the team knows how to win the close ones, I would find a lot more comfort if we could demonstrate we could put a team away early and keep it that way.

And if we do win the Super Bowl, we know its going to be one hell of a party---bring your kevlar swim trunks!

whatever man...

i want to punch that writer in his smug mouth… the “Bengals always get arrested” stigma is way over-hyped and its a tired routine. guys around the league get arrested all the god damn time. it’s no different from any other team—it just so happened that a bunch of guys from the Bengals all got arrested in a short span. i can’t stand that shit anymore.

that writer has no fucking clue what he’s talking about either. read the rest of the article, he sounds like a casual fan blogging about the NFL. don’t buy into that garbage.

yea there are teams worse than us the past few years.

Brandon Marshall domestic assault
Donte Stallworth Vehicular manslaughter
Plaxico Burress Shot himself (he needs the kevlar trunks)
Mike Vick eating the livers of little doggies
and so on and so on

+1

When the hell are we gonna get some respect in this league? We have one bad season since 2003 and its the “inevitable collapse” now? Last time we started 4-1 we went to the playoffs, so if he wants to talk about inevitabilities lets start right there.

I think its clear we’ve fixed the outlaw problem, these guys know if they get arrested they are off the team no more screwing around, and when was the last time a Bengal got arrested? 2006? Don’t these “writers” have something better to do than dump on a winning team. I guess now that the Broncos have proven themselves it’s our turn to earn everyone’s respect.

Leon Hall last year

But that’s it. Every other team has had a player arrested in that time span as well. The Bengals simply don’t get arrested more than other teams. It was an anomaly.

yahoo news is nothing more than an online gossip rag...

…that never centers its content around actual news and prefers to base their stories on rumor, and heresay. All Yahoo is good for is their Fantasy Sports. I encourage eveyone to ignore their headlines (usually with a question mark at the end, which is always a sign of lacking actual news).

Who cares?

In fact I prefer it this way. Everyone continues to underestimate us which leads to the priceless pictures of the opponents O sitting on the bench in amazement that Carson is driving the team down the field for another winning score and that there is nothing they can do about it. What else can you expect from a liberal media who thinks that they can control the truth with media spin. They have yet to realize that we can actually think for ourselves and that we are just as smart as they are. Anyone who lets this kind of spin bother them should look for something else to worry about. As for me I’m laughing all the way to the win column.

love how this "author"

says baltimore blew the game, forgetting to check the game stats. game i watched, baltimore’s offense did nothing all game long. according to this guy, we got a lucky break. we didn’t outplay baltimore.

what an asshat of an “author.”

he probably hates the bengals because he lost money on the baltimore game.
