Tampa Bay Buccaneers sign fullback Chris Pressley off the Bengals practice squad
We all liked full back Chris Pressley. He was a hard knocking hitter on Hard Knocks, competing against Fui Vakapuna, J.D Runnels and veteran Jeremi Johnson for the position. Unfortunately for everyone, Jeremi Johnson resumed some resemblance of what he did earlier in his career. As a result, Runnels was let go early. Vakapuna and Pressley were featured on Hard Knocks while nervously sitting around waiting for the call if they made the squad or not. Both were waived. Pressley returned on the team's practice squad.
The hope was that Pressley would be on hand during next year's offseason in case Jeremi Johnson frustrated the entire organization with his annual off-season weight problems. However, that's not going to happen now. The Bengals tweet that "FB Chris Pressley signed off practice squad by Tampa Bay."
On one hand, it kind of sucks Pressley is going from a playoff contender to a team that hasn't won either of their seven games. On the other hand, Pressley is now on an NFL 53-man roster. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost their true fullback, B.J. Askew to a season-ending injury suffered in an auto accident and Earnest Graham has filled in at fullback. Most likely, Pressley will get a shot to start, who is the only listed fullback on Tampa Bay's roster.

Earnest Graham is the true FB there, Ward and C Williams are the RBs, Pressley will be a backup at best.
Hope it comes through for him but yeah, another one lost.
At least we are spotting talent now :)

NOOOOOOOOOOOO
But seriously, it says alot about how far our team has come when people are plucking our guys from the practice squad. On another note, good for him. He seemed like a great guy and deserves the chance to start somewhere.

Is Fui still on the Card’s practice squad?

good question
If Jeremi has to miss some time, at least we could sign Fui

I want Tony Rockyhara back!
wonder if we can sign him to our practice squad from their practice squad…hmm…
For that matter, do we sign another player to the 53-man roster and send somebody down to the PS, or do we just sign somebody to the PS off the street? Whaddy’all think?

Our Loss
Pressley deserves to be playing, but it’s unfortunately not on our team, and yeah, the Bucs? Sorry Chris.
Seems like the logical thing would be to get your PS player onto the 53 man roster and get a new body to fill thier shoes.

When you pluck a player from the ps
They have to be signed to your 53 man roster immediately.

good for Chris, bad for us
I dont’ think this will come back to haunt the team in a Cedric Benson / Chicago Bears kind of way, but I do suspect we will look on him as one that got away but shouldn’t have in a few years…
