He must want a super bowl ring.
This will probably not be that big of a deal. The Bengals will get a rash of shit from the media, but if Benson stays healthy this will be a Mike Vick situation, which is no news at all.

Wow.. I’ve been daydreaming about this for 5 years… LJ a Bengal…
Wow.. I’ve been daydreaming about this for 5 years… LJ a Bengal…I’ve lived in Chiefs country for almost 3 decades. Trust me, you can’t judge anyone on their roster by how the team has performed in the past few years. The Chiefs are to this decade as the Bengals were to the 90s. The embarrassing collection of losers they’ve gone through for head coach and the pathetic play of the team is simply shameful.

Now I just hope he gets a chance to play and isn’t left in an “insurance policy” role that screwed him in KC for the meat of his career.

You think he won’t put up 200 on the Chiefs in week 18? He knows the only way he can get onto the field is to perform at a stellar level, just like he had to do his first couple years. Hopefully this time the coaching staff will let him earn a role instead of just keeping him in a glass case.

The Chiefs aren't that bad yet, but almost
At least they have been to the playoffs three times this decade and they finished 13-3 once something the Bengals have never done. Plus, they had the best offense in the NFL a few times back in the early aughts too when Trent Green and Preist Holmes were great. The Bengals had nothing working at all in the 90’s.

In 1990 the Bengals were still a playoff team. Ok, so the decline from there took one offseason, not 2-3 seasons like my rose-colored memories, but still.

Maybe you feel that way, I don't.
But you can judge LJ by the fact that he is almost 30 and still acts like he’s in Jr. High. Or the fact that he’s almost 30 and plays RB in the NFL. At this age LJ is at best an insurance policy, at worst it blows up in our faces. He will not get a large number of carries here, and he won’t supplant Benson when he comes back.
And if anyone is the new 90’s Bengals, it’s the Raiders.

Great acquisition
Assuming there are lots of incentive clauses tied to the number of games played and/or number of carries, etc., this is still an excellent pick-up. LJ still have at least 3 to 5 good years left in him. At least he is coming to a place where if he plays like he was, with his dazzling moves, he will be welcomed and loved. When you have a winner, everything is forgotten.

Aren’t the Chiefs paying his salary? bengals get him for league minimum (pro rated) and Chiefs cover all else.
If he does meet incentive clauses on another team, do they still get paid. [if I am remembering correctly on the first paragraph]
That'd be the butt, bob.

Not excited about LJ
Not sure what we think we’re going to do with him. I hope MB doesn’t use him as an excuse not to pay Cedric Benson at the end of the year when his 2 year contract is up. That guy deserves every penny
