Give LJ a Break
At this point, you have to give the benefit of the doubt to Marvin and Mike Brown. The Bengals were criticized for picking up Benson, taking back Henry, signing Tank Johnson, keeping Chad, etc. I mean, come on already. The Bengals are 7-2 right now, and every one of those guys have been critical to that success. Not only that but when Tank went down for a few weeks, people were itching for him to come back and add to the depth chart. Not to mention how many people were upset with Henry going down. These were two guys that nobody wanted the Bengals to take. Now they sign Larry Johnson and its the same old story.
The guy was a former pro-bowler. He ran for 4.5 yards per carry last year on a terrible team, and he was dissatisfied with his team (as Chad was with ours for the last 2 years). He is coming to a whole new environment, a rejuvenated locker room, and he has yet to be included in any kind of game plan. If he acts up, which everyone should be hoping he does not, then he is gone, simple as that.
Until then, you have to give LJ the benefit of the doubt. He wants to win, we are winning. End of story. The coaching staff will not put up with his antics. Let him be a positive piece to the puzzle and give him your support.
If the rest of the team supports him, there is no reason why you should not.

Since when did chiefs fans turn into Yankees fans?

I said my peace about LJ before.
I don’t think he’s got much gas left in the tank. I think he’s got a lot of baggage outside of the football field and I hope he can keep it out of the lockerroom.
that said, if I’m wrong, then great pickup at the Mike Brown Home for Wayward Football Players League.

as i said in another post, now that the deal is done, i have no choice but to welcome him to the team, being a homer and all. i hope this works out the way ced’s deal did. i’m sure being at 7-2 instead of 2-7 will help his attitude.
i'm going to go america all over your ass!

All I want to know is...
When are they putting the “Boys Town” sign on PBS?
"If it wasn't this, it'd be something else."

OK, so I'm belaboring the point
but on the last highlight, the one where he reverses field and beats the entire Bengal D, isn’t that Odell Thurman he sheds going into the end zone? Thurman hasn’t played here in about 4 years. A montage of Marvin Harrison highlights from 05-06 would look pretty awesome too, but we’re not exactly banging down his door…

A Good LJ Article
Here’s a great article about the LJ signing. I don’t know if Kirk already posted this one somewhere, but it’s worth the read.
This is our year!

no offense man, but that article sucks. The Bengals didn’t go sign LJ because Ced got hurt, they started the process of bringing him in days before the Steeler game was even played.
Larry Johnson has made some very stupid comments, but does anyone consider the position he was in? He grew up with a legendary RB coach for a father. In college he played for Joe Paterno. He rushed for over 2,000 yards in his senior year and averaged 8 yards per carry doing it. He also set the school record for receptions and receiving yards in a season by a running back. On draft day, he went to the one team that needed him the least- the Kansas City Chiefs. They already had Priest Holmes in the prime of his career and a very solid backup in Derrick Blaylock. Johnson went from Hall of Fame dreams to a benchwarmer and stayed that way for two years. When he kept going to the notoriously tear-prone coach to ask for playing time, he was publicly told to “take the diapers off”. When that coach finally left, he was replaced with a guy who was so bad that his final two years were spent in a constant “I don’t care, I’m just going to have fun until they fire me” attitude and as soon as he got the axe he went into broadcasting because absolutely NO ONE was interested in him at any level. The next “coach” is a kid who has two seasons as an OC and 6 or 8 more as a wide receivers coach as the entirety of his coaching experience. A guy who has never been a head football coach at ANY level.
Johnson spent his entire life around legendary coaches until being drafted by the Chiefs, then he sees a carousel of coaching failure that has David Shula saying “So I’m not the worst anymore, right?”
I don’t condone his actions, but if I had been in his shoes it would have been a lot worse.

Well Said
It’s also good to note that Larry Johnson has been referred to as “a cancer” to the team. I would just like to counter that “team cancer” must show itself somewhere. Kansas City is a cancerous team right now and Larry Johnson was simply the lesion where the seepage showed.

They said the same thing about Corey Dillon his last couple years in Cincinnati, but once Marvin came in and there was hope CD shut up and played hard. It wasn’t enough to keep him from getting the axe, but his 4.7 avg that year (if I remember right) got him on the Patriots’ SB winning team.
Lots of guys have “character issues” that black flag them, but many lose that stigma when they get into a better situation. Randy Moss comes immediately to mind. Albert Haynesworth, who stomped his cleats into Andre Gurode’s face and then said in an interview he “rehabilitated” by getting advice from an old pro on how to hurt guys on the field without getting caught. Now he’s the hottest commodity in the league. What about Cris Carter? Now he’s considered one of the true class acts in recent NFL history, but early on he was a PR nightmare.
Let’s wait and see what he does, on and off the field, before deciding if this was a good move, eh?

I have stated my disgust about this move before
However, I pray that LJ proves me wrong.

LJ is done guys
Im a Chiefs fan, Your welcome for beating the Steelers.
But still LJ is done, He is too slow to evade tackles and not strong enough to break them. He is a mediocore back at best. Bernard Scott is the better back, I think he will do fine if Benson Misses more time. I always loved LJ, but you cant excuse what Charles has been able to do since he left.
That Falcons Pick Is Looking Like It Might Be Higher Then We Thought.
I have Ronnie Brown, Micheal Turner, and Dwayne Bowe all on my fantasy team.
