Methinks they doth protest much too much
I do... seeing others pop in here (and some Bengals supporters as well) and question (deservedly) the character of Larry Johnson led me to google a bit on character in the NFL.
Ran across this database in San Diego, probably started after they had their Bengal year last year:
http://legacy.signonsandiego.com/sports/nfl/arrests.html
I didn't parse it entirely to see if every team was represented, but there are some real horses on there from many contenders. Then we get to also consider the non-arrestable character issues like having a baby and dumping the mama for a model (NE QB) or just being a douchebag (NO TE) or allowing your dangerous dogs to run free (eventually killing horses... HORSES?? MIA LB).
Any comments?
[I'm not sure of the propriety of copy-pasting data points from someone elses work, so I'll leave the link to you.

WTF?
I guess a winning record brings out freaks.

I'm glad to see we have only one arrest in almost a year and a half
Its good to see murders like Leonard Little and Ray Lewis still playing. Good for them. And why have the Steelers not canned Jeff Reed that guy is a total douche and he’s a kicker? How many passes can you give a kicker? Especially when he’s missing kicks and tackles every week.

Agree about Reed, 99%...
Can’t go 100%, even though I want to. The guy makes a high percentage of kicks in a tough stadium to kick in.
That said, get him the heck out of here in the offseason.

interesting
It’s amazing how many incidents happen that you just don’t hear about. I remember hearing about half of of those and the others, wow. The Bengals team from a couple of years ago certainly earned a bad reputation, but it kinda pisses me off that lazy talk show host still use it to take shots. After seeing all those incidents and dates on paper it seems even more inappropriate.

yea, ESPN could do a whole show just based on that list
some of my favorites included the countless number of players who have beaten their wives, girlfriends, or tried to have sex with 15 year old girls (there were more than 3)..
another one stood out to me.. Andre Rison, a Kansas City Chief WR, was cited for obstructing a police officer by giving false information. He identified himself to the officer as “Brock Middlebrook.” haha, that may be the best fake name ever given out..
