How much Andre Smith do we see Sunday?

Yep Ladies and Gentlemen, its finally that time when we see that BIG number 71 jersey trot on the field and get his first NFL action. Our offensive line has been playing so well that I just hope that this addition will only make things better,not worse. One of two things will happen, 1, Andre Smith will dominate the right side and will open huge holes for Benson, keep palmer safe,and be more than worthy of the 6th overall pick, 2, Andre Smith gets blown up and this pick will add to the list of terrible choices by the Bengals in the past two decades (Akili, Irons, Levi, Klingler etc....). I'm just wondering how much of the big man we actually see Sunday, If i had to guess it wouldn't be all that much. One thing is for sure, I really hope this goes down as one of the best choices the Bengals ever made and he is just another building block to this already young team. I'll be rooting for big number 71 and I wish him well, just remember, last year at this time he was considered the best college football player and worthy of the Number 1 overall pick. Could he be the next Munoz/Anderson? Only time will tell and I speak for all of you when I say GOD I HOPE SO!!!

Just a side note.....

Hobson pointed out that if there is no cap in 2010, you can franchise two players.

Lewis said Henry would play only 60% of the offensive snaps(the same he has been getting all year) so if he wants a big deal he better take advantage of those snaps.

Except for Henry and Graham, there aren’t any looming big names headed to market, but they’ll no doubt look into extending several guys after the season. If Lewis has a new-look team, management has a new-look salary structure.

To label him a bust if he plays poorly in his first game. He’s going to have growing pains. It’s to be expected from a rookie.

you mean the Rod Hood who signed with the Browns? then got cut 2 weeks later? then Hood signs with the Bears. Then gets cut 3 weeks later. Then signs with the Titans. That Rod Hood?

who didnt play a snap with the browns or bears, and had one interception, 3 tackles, and 3 pass defended in his one game he actually plays

Actual Discussion about Andre Smith

I think Andre shouldn’t start by any means, but he needs to be in the regular rotation after the first series or two. Unless he’s worthless, the big guy should be in on short yardage plays at all times. Time to get this kid into the game.

With all the unbalanced-lines they’ve been using, I think he’ll get a fair amount of snaps. It’s hard to maintain composure when you think of a smashmouth package with a loaded right-side consisting of Big Bobbie, Andre the Giant, Dennis Roland at TE with Domata Peko lead blocking at FB….. i love it:
