Broncos fans kicked out of Ravens stadium for standing
Ok. So I was browsing Baltimore Beatdown and came across a fan post about some Denver fans being kicked out of the Ravens game for standing. Yes, you read right. For standing. The comments section has now been closed because apparently Ravens fans don't like criticism of their security dept. I commented saying something in regards to this incident being a disgrace and I would be ashamed if my team kicked somebody out for something so petty... I mean, standing at a football game. God, that's such a terrible thing to do! I did say that it was unfortunate that this had to happen because it casts a bad light on Ravens fans, who are generally classy fans(or so I thought.) So there I was giving them props. Bad mistake.
I'm originally from the Columbus area but have recently lived in Kentucky and Michigan so I don't run into Ravens fans very often. I'm usually in contact with bandwagon Steelers fans or loyal (very loyal) Browns fans. So I guess I really didn't know what I was talking about when I said Ravens fans were classy. I mean, I don't know any personally.
So there I was giving them props for being classy fans. I got replies like "Yeah, the only people that get kicked out of PBS are the Bungles" or "Nobody cares if you're standing at your stadium because the seats behind you are empty" or "Your team has been terrible for 15 years. You should be ashamed!" Blah blah blah. All of this in response to my comment about how classy Ravens fans are. I guess they're so desperate to prove a Bengals fan wrong about anything, even if that happens to be a compliment to their fanbase.
So I stand corrected. Very few of these Ravens fans seemed to be concerned about fans getting kicked out of their stadium for no reason. They actually seemed pretty happy about it. Now while I don't like other fans in our stadium, I've gotten used to it being a fan of a underachieving team for quite some time. But would I wish or condone any person getting kicked out for standing? No! That's just wrong. A fan paid for a ticket and should be entitled to enjoy their experience unless they are drunk and causing problems. But standing?! I hope the fans who were kicked out back up their words and sue the Ravens. They at least deserve to be reimbursed for their tickets and travel expenses (they supposedly traveled 1300 miles to watch the Broncos/Ravens game)
What do you guys think? And remember, let's keep it classy. After all, we are the class of the AFC North.

I don’t come across Ravens fans too often where I live either, but I’m not sure why you thought they were classy, lol. A little respect goes a long way though, and it sounded like their comments probably came from a couple jerks, so you never know if they are representative of the whole.
This is our year!

It seems like for the most part when they come over here they're classy for the most part
But I admittedly don’t have the best memory and have only had an account here since this offseason… though I’ve been a frequent reader of CJ for a few years.

I think they are still mad the colts left town
seriously if i was kicked out of the titans stadium for standing, I would have thrown a hissy fit and gave them a real reason to throw me out. You are right, they should be sued or at least reimbursed for their ticket and travel expenses

Yea
The nerve you struck was the FUNNY BONE.
Here you go, this goes great with this picture.
O, say can you see,
By the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed,
At the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, Through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched,
Were so gallantly streaming.
And the rocket’s red glare,
The bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night,
That our flag was still there.
Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave,
O’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.

My point to them was..
A) If a fan in my stadium was kicked out for standing I would be ashamed of my organization for that action.
and
B) It’s a shame to Ravens fans that this happened because it could cast a bad light on them- and I went out on a limb and said the majority of Ravens fans are classy.
But yeah, I totally agree. The Ravens need to be sued. Apparently this isn’t an uncommon occurrence for non-Ravens fans to be kicked out.

For the most part we do
But there’s rotten apples in every fanbase. But to Baltimore’s credit, they had the Colts taken away from them overnight and then had to settle for the Browns franchise. On top of all this, they have to support a team that wears purple. I almost feel sorry for them. Almost.

Yup
You even have fans who stand for the National Anthem. I wish to be like each and every one of you guys one day.

Mr MaLoR
Trolls every AFC North site and complains about the refs and tries to belittle other teams.
My guess is that he has very low or no self esteem. Another possibility is that he has nothing else better to do. These are just educated guesses…

To get back to the Story
The fans in question had front row seats in the end zone. They wore their Denver Broncos colors and although they were not acting like idiots, they were standing the ENTIRE time in front of people who are season ticket holders and just as if not more importantly, PSL Holders. They were asked repeatedly to sit down by both Security and the police, at least at times. Feel free they said to stand in important situations and after nice plays, but sit once in a while to give those behind you a chance to see. They refused saying it was their right to stand. They were finally told ti either sit down or get kicked out and they still refused to sit. Like the rules or not, they were given the ultimatum by the police and choose not to follow the rules. they, unfortunately, stood on principle and got kicked out, which is what they deserved and exactly what would happen to me if I did the same at any opposing teams’ stadium.

I didn't know that
They failed to mention that in their YouTube videos. If that’s the case they definitely deserved to get kicked out. But still, there are fans who stand pretty much the entire time at PBS and I’ve never seen any of them get asked to sit down by security. But I’m sure most people would have the common sense to adhere to security warnings if they were told so. Still though, what’s the big deal with standing? I’d rather someone stand the whole time then stand up right as a big play is about to happen (For instance someone catching a ball) and blocking my view (assuming I’m sitting) without warning.
by WhoDeyDerek on Nov 4, 2009 4:06 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Definitely deserved to be booted?
They (security) had no right to kick them out. I can only imagine how much they spent for those tickets and if they want to stand at the seats they paid for they should have every right. You find me bylaws to the NFL that say fans cannot stand in their seats I will no longer be a fan of the league. Its a sporting event and they are in the front row! I have tickets to the bengals and jets week 17 and I promise I will not sit my ass down once that whole game and if someone tries to kick me out they will have to do it in handcuffs. Just another example of the N.F.L. or the No Fun League

Everybody would be trash talking so much nobody would even watch the game! Well, not me… I’ll be in the Jungle standing up (imagine that!) and getting rowdy

No problem guys
We are obviously both sets of fans whpo passionately back our teams, especially when they’re both fighting and doing so well. Sometimes we all get a teeny bit out of control (ya thunk?).
But the Denver fans who stood all the time despite sitting in the FIRST row, should have bought tickets in the LAST row if they didn’t want to get called on it!
Give Denver fans a break though, they’re just not used to the thicker air at sea level.

Every team has it's fans that embarrass he rest of the fan base.
I’ve personally been to Invesco Mile High Stadium at Denver in the Rockies, or whatever the freak they call the thing, and the fans were nice. Even after getting their butts beat by the Steelers that game, in the ‘05 AFCCG, I was invited by Bronco Fan Girl (a local television celebrity) to tailgate with her and her crew. Sort of a "Welcome to Denver, now go home…after you’ve partied for a while" kind of thing. Great people. No one hassled me too bad, and I was flying the Black and Gold hard.
But these goofballs seemed to just want to flex their new-found muscle that Kyle Orton and Co. is giving them, and it’s lame. They should hame been, at worst , thwon out, at best, tickets taken away and made to stand on some 2nd level railing somewhere.

Lets Go back to the begining of the trash talking. Seems that WhoDey came to our site and posted a million pics of Bungles. Geee, I don’t think I would post Ravens pics on your site. He also dropped F bombs and garbage comments. We replied in force. Go take a look and check the time lines and not just the scrolling lines.
Oh, and then the Bungle “guests” cried and ran home when they got dumped on. And then WhoDey posted a story from our blog that had nothing to do with the Bungles but, instead, some jackass Broncos fan.
Jerks? Carsonorbust. Don’t Bungle troll on our site and then run back here calling Ravens fans and long time bloggers jerks. It’s all opinion and if you don’t like it stay over here. No matter what type of reception I get on another fans site, I eat it/give it back without complaint. I’m on THEIR site.
Sunday begins your losing streak. Back to the cellar with your fugly helmets. GD I hope we beat the crap out of you and leave Carson in a heap on the turf.

WhoDey has been blasted by his own kind on this very site for being an ass to me before.
I don’t even acknowledge him anymore. But there’s some really good people on this site.
And this isn’t meant as any kind of double-sided insult, but they’re (Bengals) tired of losing. Their team is playing well right now, beaten some teams and won in different ways, and have a record no one (realistically) expected. I’d be stoked and flexing my pride a little too.
Like I said above…every team has that village idiot people have to put up with because they have no choice.

i actually realistically expected this record (maybe not the specific victories, but the record); other than that, i agree with everything you said in this post. you can’t really call it an insult to say bengals fans are tired of losing, just a valid observation.
