Steelers suck but is that scary for the Bengals?

Outside of my dream of Bratkowski and Mike Brown being cast  on "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" and getting left in the jungle, nothing makes me happier then the demise of the Steelers. That being said I realized that maybe our wins over them don't mean as much. As a matter of fact we have only beat one team ( The Packers ) with a winning record. I really hope the Bengals go to the dome and prove that they are not a fluke. Either way I am really glad that we dont have to face the Steelers in the playoffs.  Now lets go Detroit!

The wins mean alot because we swept our division

one game away from being division champion, and tied with San Diego with the second seed in the playoffs which would include a first round bye and a divsional round home game. So yes, the those games meant alot :)

Big picture is what I am talking about .Outside of the obvious reason for the seond seed I think we need a win over a playoff team before the playoffs. If we dont win at San Diego or Minnesota there is a good chance we might not have beat but one team with a winning record. I hope we take care of that this Sunday!!

I do as well

I think we pull out one of the two (would like both) but the Bengals seem to step it up when we play games that mean alot or play good teams

That was Trotanoy

that posted a long chain of “HA HA HA” which was about 200+ words long.

I showed a little more class than that, on BTSC. I will show Steeler fans no class if they just come to talk shit here.

eventually steelers fans will have to realize that what goes around comes around, and you’ll stop bitching every time another team’s fans give you what steelers fans dish out every day.

The Vikings have also only beaten one team with a winning record

And it happens to be the Packers as well. It’s worth noting that we’ve also only played two teams that have a winning record.

We’ll pick up two more wins over teams with winning records in the next two weeks though! Go Bengals!!

9-3 and 4-0 against last season’s conference championship teams is enough to prove we’re not a fluke. if public opinion says otherwise, they can just keep saying otherwise while the bengals keep winning.

i kind of felt the same way initially, Bengal Boy, but think about how many times the Steelers swept the division. Were prognosticators dogging them those years with such statements as, “well, they swept the division, but look who they beat….the bengals and browns.” ?

You have to believe that a huge hurdle for the Bengals beating the Steelers is a mental thing. Even in Week 3, the Steelers did what they usually do, which is bully us with early points, and try to hold on to the lead. The great thing about that game was simply the Bengals refusing to go out like that, yet again.

The Steelers have watched the injuries mount this season, so early on they looked poised to at least make it back to playoffs. (they haven’t been eliminated yet) I think we can all agree that there were many factors that contributed to last night’s shocker, namely weather and the Steelers crippled O-Line. On the flipside, I think as Bengals fans we can identify with Browns fans in that falling to 1-11 is simply miserable, and even a moral victory can at least give some hope. So for the Browns to actually win that game really gives their fans something to be very very proud of. Reminds me of last year when we spoiled things for the Redskins, but obviously beating the Steelers has a little more significance.

With all that said, I’m not gonna lie: I’m glad to see the chances of facing the Steelers for a 3rd time diminish. But don’t let asshole media prognosticators convince you that our wins have any less meaning. A good team takes care of business, especially in division games. And you have more/less advantage in division games due to familiarity.

Our division has a lot of great victories this season: the Steelers beat the Vikings, the Ravens were a last second missed FG from beating the Vikings, both the Ravens and Steelers beat the Chargers, both the Ravens and Steelers beat the Broncos (and we should have). This is a division that we swept mind you.

Look, were a single victory from a Division Crown, wear it with pride. A division sweep is a very very difficult task, not to be looked down upon regardless of the seasons had by your respective division opponents.
