Cincinnati & the Big 10?
So amidst all of this hoopla today that the Big 10 will pursue a twelfth team and add a conference championship game, and one of the leading candidates seems to be Cincinnati.
So as a guy who spent his fall traveling to every Big 10 campus on his own dime, I would certainly welcome Cincinnati to the Big 10 – but I’m curious – how do the Bearcats feel? Would they welcome the addition to the Big 10?
Us Big 10 fans can only dream of an additional team for now...but hey, if you'd care to take a look at the campuses/venues/traditions that you could be traveling to over the next few years, here's a recap of my fall traveling "big 10 country" from the average joe perspective:

well....
They are right in the middle of everything, but I think they are a much smaller school than the Big Eleven.
Plus they really want to add a new state so their network will be shown in more households. Since Notre Dame is not joining, I think it has to be Rutgers.
Notre Dame wouldn't add a new state to the Big Ten...
Indiana already has IU and Purdue. It could be Rutgers, though. The Big East has a slew of teams already.
Plus Notre Dame would never join a conference in NCAA Football. They already have an exclusive TV contract with NBC, and are one of the(if not the)richest private universities in the country.

It has to be Rutgers
It’s all about East Coast dollars. Notre Dame would be a fine addition to the Big Ten but it wouldn’t do much to expand the fan base. Besides, that part of IN is in a time warp. It’s actually 30 years ago there, right now! It’s true. there are not 57 games on every Saturday and that TV contract still makes them special. So I guess they don’t need us. The national media force feeds America sports coverage from the east coast and the Big Ten wants some of that. Rutgers would certainly benefit from a promotion.
Cincy stays in BigEast I bet..
quality of football is better. The Big Mac is overrated.

i think cincinnati is too urban for the big ten.
the ones that make the most sense to me are Rutgers, Mizzou, Louisville, Central Michigan.
Academics will eliminate many schools from contention
UC simply doesn’t have the academic standards. The CIC (the academic arm of the B10) holds veto power, thus UC is not likely to be a candidate. The undergraduate education is fine, but the real issue is the insufficient graduate research.
they also mentioned
syracuse, missouri, nebraska, and pittsburgh. i’d be happy with any of these teams joining as an OSU alum.
