The Solution to The Kick Returner
There is a solution to our kick return problems, Aside from Bernard Scott we have no explosive kick returners, which boggles my mind that The Bengals did not pounce on the Jet's Pro Bowl Kick Returner Justin Miller. Why have we not scheduled him for a work out? It would be a perfect fit to bring Miller in as a kick returner, and with B. Scott most likely out this weekend we need to take a chance because even before Caldwell's infamous fumble he was already last in the NFL in YPR [yards per return].He has already worked out for the Browns. Do you think we should sign Justin Miller?

Actually wouldn't be a bad signing
He could return kicks and be the 4th CB. David Jones has played ok I guess. But Miller could replace him on the roster, and the secondary dropoff would be minimal, while the KR upgrade would be significant.
who do you cut
to sign miller? do you really need another person on the team eating a roster spot for just 1 thing?
see above, also an okay CB

who do you cut then?
The only players that you could possibly cut is Purify, (no) Skuta, (no) Coats, (possible) or Nelson (no). Coats is needed for his blocking ability as much as I hate to say it. Carson needs to be upright in the rest of these games. Who else do we have as a backup TE. Pitiful ain’t it! I would love to see what he can do, but there has to be a reason that he was cut from the Jets and the Raiders a total of 4 times. He looked like he had some promise the first two years of his career, but went down hill the last three. He can’t be on the PS b/c of eligibility issues.
Tom Nelson
He returned both punts and kicks in college. Go to youtube and you will see his highlights. Runs North to South unlike Dance-Man Caldwell.
He had a couple good returns in preseason as well
I forgot about him returning kicks this would be a nice option to explore.
David Jones
Jones play last year was solid. He had alot of action late in the season when Joseph went on IR. He started the season hurt. Trent has performed well and Jones is now the 4th CB. He’s only 24-25.He’s still developing. He came from a small program. I can tell you this, put him on waivers and he will get claimed. Good young corners aren’t a dime a dozen.
