Bengals announce game against the Lions is officially a sellout
No way this game is going to sell out. No chance in hell. How in the world could the team push 6,000 available tickets against a team like the Lions in a few days? The team applied and received a 24-hour extension to sell the game out so it would be on television. Then, the Bengals official twitter account tweets.
Blackout lifted for Sunday's game vs. Lions. Game will be broadcast locally on Fox 19. 51st straight Bengals sellout.
Well, how the hell do you like that? The Bengals pushed over 6,000 tickets and got this game sold out for the locals to watch on the comfortable couches or favorite drinking establishment. In other news, I think the game-day meal is going to be tacos, baby. And as luck would have it, we have a Brennaman broadcasting the game. Nothing could possibly go wrong.
Josh Katzowitz tweets (isn't Twitter frickin' great?) the list of sponswers who helped the blackout.
Long list of sponsors who helped avoid the Bengals blackout. Fox19, 5/3 bank, Kroger, Bud Lite, JTM and Ohio Casualty.
Joe Reedy tweets (yea, Twitter is frickin' great) that Krogers is planning on giving tickets away.
Bengals tix giveway at five Krogers locations. Two tickets each to the first 50 people who donate at least 20 non-perishable food items
Krogers Forest Park (10-11),Norwood Surrey Sq.(11-12),Blue Ash Hunt Rd(12-1), Cherry Grove(2-3),Western Hills Glenway Ave(4-5)

You want me to buy tickets?
Empty scare tactics are not the way to do it. Who didn’t see this coming?
When is a sellout not a sellout?
From Bengals.com…the article titled “Bengals hit 51st straight sellout”…
“In spite of the blackout being lifted, there are seats remaining for the game. They can be purchased by phone through the Bengals Ticket Hotline at 513-621-8383 (TDTD) until 8 p.m. today or between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday. Additionally, tickets may be ordered at any time today or Saturday by clicking here. Also, tickets may be purchased in person at the Bengals ticket office at Paul Brown Stadium until 5 p.m. today, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and on game day beginning at 9 a.m. "
Sounds to me like they are still selling tickets to this sellout and not SRO tickets either. Strange on many levels.
sellout is not a literal term. it means only that a large enough percentage of seats have been sold for the nfl to show the game in the local market.
i'm going to go america all over your ass!
Ah
I did not know that. Interesting that it isn’t literally a sellout and yet they call it that. Sounds like they build in some flexibility in order to put it on or not at their discretion?
