Post-Game Thread: Detroit Lions (2-10) 13 - Cincinnati Bengals (9-3) 23
The Bengals won another snoozefest this week against another awful team, reminiscent of last week's boring win against the awful Browns. But, hey, a win is a win, and a winning season we have secured as the Bengals improved to 9-3 with 4 games to play.
Carson Palmer turned the ball over 3 times. The defense played pretty well, including making a few take aways of its own and scoring a touchdown to help carry the Bengals to victory. Penalties were rampant and a problem. Tackling was a problem at times, too. But the Bengals took care of business, I guess, and style points don't really matter at this point to anyone but the pundits.
Here are some stats, because I'm bored and complacent since the Bengals won easily. Oh yeah, some notable notes... Bengals are the first team ever to have 3 different backs go for over 100 yards in 3 straight games, and they've recorded the biggest 12 game turnaround ever (from 2-11-1 to 9-3).
- Penalties: CIN - 9: 75, DET - 7:45
- Time of Possession: CIN - 38:48, DET - 21:12
- First Downs: CIN - 22, DET - 14
- 3rd Downs: CIN - 6/15, DET - 2/11
- Rushing: CIN - 41 carries, 122 yards, 3.0 ypc, DET - 20 carries, 80 yards, 4 ypc
- Passing: CIN - 17/29, 220, 7.9, 1 TD, 2 INT , DET - 13/29, 192, 5.7 ypc, 1 TD, 2 INT
- QB Pressure (Sacks/Hits): CIN - 3/8 , DET - 2/3
- Secondary (Int/Passes Defensed): CIN - 2/8, DET - 2/5

Bob Costas spoke about that for about a minute or two last week during Sunday Night's halftime
Blogger at CincyJungle.com -- SB Nation Cincinnati Bengals blog.

If he spoke for an hour, maybe they’d give in just to shut him up. Short of that, I’ll probably be 40+ before they do.

Before it came FULLY out? Maybe. Before the ball started moving, no. And that’s good enough.

Yeah they do.
I’ll leave the Steeler fans to their whining. A SB victory is about the only thing worrth getting banned from BTSC over.

Want to beat the Vikes?
better play like they played against the Ravens and not like they’ve played the last three weeks.
by occams_tiger_teeth on Dec 6, 2009 5:17 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I agree
Vikes are no slouch this year. Historically, we’ve done good against Favre.

by Danimal, Destroyer of Worlds on Dec 6, 2009 5:35 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
1......
just playing devil’s advocate here: it was 1 in 06 too. but this is a different team I think we win at least 2 more

Ravens can still go 11-5
If the Bengals win one more they can be at worst 10-6.
The Ravens can be 11-5 if they win out.
The magic number is two.
by occams_tiger_teeth on Dec 6, 2009 5:44 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I forgot about them
On that note, Go Pack.

They really need to get it done.
If not, then it may come down to the Squealers beating Ratbirds for our clincher

sickens me to no end

why do i feel an overwhelming desire to be a complete dickwad to steelers fans about their loss to oakland? oh yeah, because they did the same thing here after we lost to the raiders. okay, must not sink to their level . . .
