One and done...for starters

This falls into the catagory of..duh, but it's still kinda cool to be able to talk about. With the Ravens loss tonight the Bengals will clinch the division with a win this Sunday. That would guarantee us a home playoff game. Obviously it's not the goal or the expectation, but it would be nice to get that first hurdle out of the way. Not to mention the milage we get out of it when talking to our buddies that own those stupid yellow towels.

Steelers & Ravens

The odds of Bengals screwing up and losing four straight and either the Steelers or the Ravens winning four straight are almost the same. So for all intention and purposes, it is highly unlikely that the Bengals will not win the Division. If it ever happens with the Bengals losing four straight to much weaker teams, then they do not deserve to go into playoffs. I look forward to the Bengals to finish at least with 12 wins (12-4).

Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
