Can the Bengals win without T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson?

James Walker writes.

As regular readers of this blog will point out, I've been down on the Bengals from the start, Luke. I've lived in Ohio for six years and covered Cincinnati in my previous job, so I know the team pretty well. It's not a well-built, well-run franchise and that's important in this league. As I've said several times, the Bengals won four games with these players last season. They can win four games next year without them and start over.

It should be pointed out that of the Bengals four wins in 2008, two games were without both receivers. Chad Johnson missed the season's final two games, and Houshmandzadeh sat the finale. Both games the Bengals won. Granted, against inferior teams. Still, the Bengals can win without both receivers, provided they build a winning team instead of depending on two wide receivers.

Walker later went on to say about the team's running backs.

I'm still not convinced Benson is a feature back in the NFL, so the Bengals should take a running back later in the draft whether Benson re-signs or not. History has proven that good players can be found at that position after the first round.

Good stuff.

At least he's honest...

and he admits he is biased. Peter King, on the other hand, who probably has the Steelers’ logo tattooed on his left nut, still claims he’s a neutral reporter. Kind of like Fox News still spouting the “Fair and Balanced” BS.

Fox News is Fox’s answer to The Girls Next Door…just a bunch of silicon lipped bambies reading off olympic sized teleprompters while being mentally undressed by a pack of wet behind the ears mamas boy “reporters”.

On another note- Cincy needs to blow the team up. Kick Chad and Housh out. If not, it will be years or patch and go while vets like them get anxious and drag their feet while new players develope. They should start with the line and establish the run because nobody in this division has a passing game. With a beefed up D Cincy can get back in the mix. This division has been won with ball control for much of the past 20 years.

Draft A QB

If you lose your WR and have a quaterback like palmer then good luck but i strongly suggest that you try to keep chad and T J cuz if you dont it might be a season like last year
