Derrick Ward looking for Michael Turner money
The Denver Post suggests that Derrick Ward should lower his asking price. We had assumed that Ward's original demand was somewhere near the four-year, $25 million with $13 million guaranteed, deal between the New York Giants and Brandon Jacobs.
Ward is looking for something similar to what a running back received, but not Jacobs. Michael Turner received a six-year $34.5 million deal with the Atlanta Falcons last season; $15 million of it guaranteed. The Denver Post writes that "Ward was seeking a deal similar" to what Turner received.
Also interesting was that the Post writes that Ward had a visit with the Philadelphia Eagles. However, Bleeding Green Nation denies this. We also learned that the deal with J.J. Arrington's deal with the Broncos could be threatened because of contract language, potentially killing the deal.

Derrick Ward seems like a younger, slightly faster, bigger version of Kenny Watson
He would be a nice addition, but $34M….please

Makes sense why he left Cincinnati without a deal. The Bengals won’t pay that for a 29 year old running back.

Err.
If technicalities bother people, he’s 28 and will be 29 on August 30.

Ugg
Really don’t like the prospect of this signing, too much money for the wrong kind of RB who would have to wade through the few holes created by an inexperienced OL.
I’m not too keen on the RB options we have, overpaying for a free agent RB doesn’t seem the way forward, well we can always draft one and wait for the inevitable injury.
