T.J Houshmandzadeh spends night in Twin Cities
A text message to T.J. Houshmandzadeh’s agent asking if he still expects a decision tonight was greeted with a one word response.
“No,” agent Kennard McGuire wrote.
So it looks like a decision likely won’t come until tomorrow. Houshmandzadeh is going to spend the night in the Twin Cities and consider contract offers from the Vikings, Bengals and Seahawks. Presumably there will be an announcement tomorrow.
Looks like T.J. will make up his mind on which team he'll choose tomorrow, in Minnesota! I wonder where he might go?...
Its also said that the vikings offered a 3 year deal, $9 million a year.

Sounds about right. We had heard originally that the cost was around $10 million — perhaps that was where the Seahawks have the advantage.

I was wondering...
do you guys over here know anything about what the Bengals have on the table offered to him?? He seemed pretty adamant about leaving Cincy, yet the name is still clinging there right down to the end. I’m guessing that offer must be pretty good??

Yea, we just updated on the main page.
The Bengals have been in discussions with McGuire and have an offer on the table higher than the deals of Plaxico Burress (five years, $35 million with $11 million guaranteed) and Hines Ward (five years, $33 million).
No firm numbers are known, however.

could the Bengals deal be longer then 3 years?
Maybe it isnt the money but the length. Maybe the Bengals offered 5 years and TJ is hung up on that. He would be guranteed more money even if he was to be cut. Much like Dawkins took in Denver

Good point
The two examples that T.J.’s agent gave were five year deals.

Well, as a Vikings fan...
I hope the Vikes throw a 4th year at him tomorrow morning to sweeten the deal. Rumor has it our deal is a 3 yr / 27 mil deal. Don’t think Cincy’s offer is 9 mil/yr, but it’s longer.
Hope he’s happy wherever he ends up, but I really hope he signs in Minnesota tomorrow.
