Rex Grossman to visit Cincinnati on Thursday

The irony that T.J. Houshmandzadeh said that he liked Rex Grossman on Chicago radio show is that Grossman didn't figure to return to the Bears. Well, it didn't matter anyway with Houshmandzadeh leaving for the west coast and Grossman looking for work opportunities.

One of those opportunities could figure to be in Cincinnati. Geoff Hobson writes that Grossman, while on the Jim Rome show, said that he'll be visiting Cincinnati on Thursday. Oh boy.

We rebuilt one former Chicago Bears offensive player, why not a second?

DONT SIGN rex grossman

the bengals would be idiots to sign rex grossman because he is going to ask for too much money to be a back up and look at his track record he has a history of screwing up.

sexy rexy

I don’t think he’s dumb enough to demand money beyond a backups salary. He knows he isn’t goin to compete with Carson or he wouldn’t be visiting with us

I think signing Rex would be a coup...

Rex Grossman was put in an impossible situation as the Chicago QB (a cursed position if there ever was one.) Factor in setbacks in development because of the injuries in his first few seasons coupled with the less-than stellar WR corps, and I think his career turned out as well as it could to this point. Let him sit behind Carson for a few years, learn how to be a pro, and the Bengals could have a tradeable commodity in a few years (kind of like Matt Schaub). Let’s be real – he’s gonna be a backup QB. If we have to use him, the season is down the tubes anyway.
