Mock Draft help needed

Hello from Seahawk Land. Let me begin by apologizing for taking TJ from you, but we really needed his help out here in Seattle. That being said, I'm participating in a mock draft, and I drew the Bengals as my team. I know very little of the Bengals needs/wants/desires.

Would anyone here be willing to give me a hand with this mock draft? It begins later this week, and I need your opinions on who might fit with your team. No trades are allowed at this point, so the picks have to be made at their assigned spots.

Any help would be most appreciated, as not only am I unfamiliar with the Bengals, but this is my first time participating in a mock draft.

How many rounds?

We're going to the fourth round for now.

If it goes quickly enough, we might add rounds then.

with WR and RB adressed in free agency expect the bengals go o-line early and often

1: OT (Jason Smith, Eugene Monroe (most likely IMHO), Oher, A. Smith)
2. C (Mack, Unger, Wood)
3. LB or RB
4. could be what was not picked in round 3 but Kirkendall has hinted that they like Fenuki Tupou out of Oregon

Hope this helps

I'm a big Monroe fan myself,

I’ve been leaning that way if he’s available for pick one. I like Unger at two, and there are quite a few RB’s that could be available in the third. I need to put more research into what might be there for LB in the third though.

Fenuki Tupou

Yea, the team is reportedly very interested in him. However, I think that scenario exists only if the Bengals go something else than OT in the first round.

With the possibility of Levi being cut, Stacy Andrews leaving in free agency, and no free agent signings I wouldn’t be apposed to taking 2 OT in this draft and if Topou is around in the 4th round I’d pull the trigger. You never know when an injury is gonna strike or if the 1st round pick busts

I'll buy that

1. OT ( hopefully Jason Smith or Eugene Monroe if neither are there and Curry falls then him)
2. C ( i would go Unger and Wood before Mack because after seeing Mack play he spends alot of time on his back just like Eric G. did)
3. i wouldnt mind seeing us pick up Ringer or Jennings to back up Benson
4. the best inside linebacker that is still on the board

Would you prefer Smith or Monroe if you had a choice?

J.Smith

Sounds like Smith is the (small sample size) prevailing wisdom here if he's available.

Smith no doubt he has a mean streak that can not be taught both are good tackles but smith is the better all around guy while monroe is a little better at pass blocking

Doesn't Palmer need a lot of protection though?

I’ve never thought of him as all that mobile…

he isnt but i think that smith will be the better tackle and that is who i would take i mean palmer isnt like a Peyton he move a little more then him but he does need protection i just dont think that monroe is a very good run blocker

They WILL draft a TE!

Barring any surprise moves like signing Tony Gonzales, I really think that they will take a TE in the first 3 rounds. Their 1st pick they will take the best player available. If Crabtree or Curry were to somehow slide, the Bengals would pounce on either one.

Rivers, Hall, Joseph are our last three #1 picks, all defensive starters. With the drafting of Simpson, Caldwell and Urrutia last year, they won’t go WR. It looks like more and more like an O lineman.

I see from your fanpost you're a massive fan of drafting a TE.

TE is so important

Very important, yet very few teams get it!

This is very helpful,

thank you to all of you! I have to admit I was a bit nervous coming over here to post since I’m an outsider an all.
