Schein's 9 Weekly Nuggets
Schein had a pretty interesting take on C. Johnson...while we all are beating this subject to death, why not beat it down some more?
Schein's Nine: Don't blow it in draft
by Adam Schein
When you think about it, it really isn't rocket science.
You take the best player on the board who fits your coaching staff and an area of need.
But yet, every single year we see goofy picks and questionable moves.
For our draft week SCHEIN 9, we offer friendly reminders to NFL teams — do not blow it.
6. Cincy must trade Chad Johnson
Marvin Lewis says he doesn't know why there is talk about trading Ocho Cinco.
That's why I am here, Marvin.
Chad recently cried to old friend T.J. Houshmandzadeh that he wanted to be traded. Ocho Cinco's act has worn thin. He's a distraction. Johnson was suspended, by you Marvin, last season before a national television game for violating team rules. You can't have rules for 52 guys and then rules for one. He's a headache, distraction and side show. It's the ultimate addition by subtraction move. And he hasn't played like a Pro Bowler in two years. This isn't about you and Mike Brown digging your heels in and showing you won't let a player talk his way off the team. It's about what is best for the team. You have needs all over the field, including offensive tackle, running back, receiver, defensive tackle and linebacker. Trade Chad. End it. Don't blow it.

Even if Mikey Brown blows another draft, if we were able to trad Chad during the process I would consider it a pretty good draft. Just package him into some picks and lets try and get Rey Maulaluga on top of our O-line 1st and 2nd picks. Too many options to list here but you get the idea… With so many picks and Chad (maybe Levi too) lets get the guys we know we need to get things going and actually have both sides of the ball be productive this year. If we play our cards right (please, please, pleaaase dont mess this up Mike) we actually could come out of the draft a few notches closer to being “there”.

Addition by subtraction is just what the TEAM needs.

MIKEY BOY
sometimes i get the feeling he would rather piss chad off than improve the team b/c he has been so let down by his antics.

Might as well as take away "sometime"
Because I feel the same way.

Brown has too much pride and not enough brains. All you have to do to pretty much guarantee he won’t do something is tell him he “must” do it. Which is why we’re so sick of him. Sure showing an annoying brat like mucho stinko who’s really the boss feeds your ego a bit and it’s kinda fun, but enough is enough already. You won round one, MB, now admit that trading him is the best thing you could possibly do for the team and get it over with.

Hard out
The idea of coupling him with our 2nd to get back into rey maulalaga is awesome. And yeah, mite as well through levi in there too.
Reckon we could trick soemone into it?
Or is it too bold for old mikey and hence not even worth discussing?

Schein is an idiot. I love Sirius, but I’d like the NFL channel a lot more if it wasn’t Schein at least 6 hours per day. He says the stupidest things I’ve heard outside of ESPN.
I think the easy answer to that “CJ called TJ crying” comment is what TJ actually said about it when someone asked if it was true that ‘half the Bengals would drive CJ to the airport’: ‘The only way they’d do that is if they were getting on the plane with him’. All that addition by subtraction and CJ needs to go crap is just media and fan verbal diarrhea.
