Our GM: Mike Brown
Some really interesting stuff in the Enquirer about the Bengals' finances and operations. You'll have to read the whole thing- and Mike Brown's testimony- to get a good overall feel for the court case from which the info springs but...Here's the money quote:
"Others findings include:
• Mike Brown received millions in “general manager” bonuses, even though the team has no such title.
VonderBrink testified the team paid a “general manager” bonus of $1,237,000 in 1999 and $1,947,695 in 2001. Brown testified in the trial he received a bonus every year since he took over running the team in 1991."
Read it and weep, fellas.

Oh I get it...
Mike Brown gives himself a bonus after the completion of yet another great season. Why is he getting bonus’ if he’s mismanaging and the Bengals are still losing? If we had a winning percentage of higher than 33% then maybe… Sooo, who wants to egg Mike Brown’s house??

Is Mike Brown the answer for the auto industry?
Mike has found a way to make loads of cash in the NFL even though his company (the Bengals) is not keeping up with the other companies within the same industry (the NFL).
So Mikey would be right at home running one of the big 3 American auto makers. Both industries have a bunch of overpaid workers that think only about how to get more money come contract time. Somehow Mikey has overpaid a few free agents to keep the fans coming back for more. He absolutely has no idea if they can perform better than other workers in the industry. As long as he keeps raking in the dough and the fans keep buying tickets, he could care less if they win.
In summation: Mike has no problem taking handouts from the fans. He’ll keep overpaying inferior employees as long as attendance is high enough to fill his fat wallet. With this in mind he should be right at home accepting Obama’s handouts, even though he knows his overpriced employees are providing an inferior product to the consumers (fans).
