P Kyle Larson Cut
Welcome to the Cincinnati Bengals, Mr. Huber. A la Hobson.
The Bengals made it clear Tuesday just how much they regard fifth-round pick Kevin Huber when they released their two veterans and left him as the only punter on the roster.
Gone is Kyle Larson after five seasons and 379 punts, the third most in team history behind Lee Johnson (746) and Pat McInally. His 41.9-yard average is tied for third in club history, but his numbers dropped considerably the past two seasons. In 2008, when he set the team record with 100 punts, he finished last in the AFC with a 39.5 average and a 34.1 net. Larson finished his career with 109 inside-20 kicks and 32 touchbacks.
The Bengals also waived Ryan Plackemeier, a fourth-year punter that played last season for Seattle and Washington and had been acquired by Cincinnati on waivers from Washington this past Feb. 13.
Congratulations to Kevin Huber, the future of the Bengals. I mean, the future of the Bengals' punting unit. 10-year pro-bowl punter in the making - even if those other picks don't work out, this draft is now officially a success.

The reign of sanity continues. First a strong draft, then the release of Perry, Levi (soon) and Larson.
In the past we would have kept these guys around until the season starts, not giving us time to go after other released players, like Larry Foote

Does this open the door for Travis Dorsch?

I don't think Foote would be willing to play for the Bengals.
I think there’s too much bad blood between Steeler linebackers and the Bengals. I also don’t think we have the money to afford Foote for what could be a backup role… unless you don’t want Rey to start, and you’d prefer Foote/Jones/Rivers.

Fuck Foote!
On another note I can hear angels singing now that Kyle " I can punt 15 yds" Larson is cut.

I think they were in the negotiation process.
Huber has unfortunately put all 5th grade girls out of the running for the Punter job.

There goes our leverage in contract negotations!

Given that the kid was a 5th rounder I seriously doubt we’re going to need a huge amount of such leverage.
