Huber Making Rounds (Cincinnati Included)

Top-ranked punter Kevin Huber is in demand from several NFL teams, according to a league source.

The standout University of Cincinnati punter has conducted private workouts with the New England Patriots, Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Jets. The Denver Broncos plan to work him out, too.

Following his Pro Day campus workout, Huber spent additional time doing specific drills at the request of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Eagles, Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants.

Huber will participate in the Bengals’ local prospect day on April 10.

Huber, who averaged 45 yards last season and placed 24 punts inside opponents’ 20-yard line, is expected to be picked during the second day of the NFL draft

Honestly, with the 5th round pick that we have, I say we jump and get this kid. Yes, he is a punter, but knowing how bad Larson was last year, and how Plackemeier is not much better, getting a kid who can down people inside the 20, who can make teams work deep from thier territory, giving our defense a chacne to make stops and allow us to get a positive field change after a punt, would really make this team a more dominant threat to the league. Punter, might just be a guy kicking the ball in the air, but it is the most underrated position in the NFL, it changes the whole impact of the game.
