Knowshon Moreno in Cincinnati on April 6
Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno, who is very high on the Bengals' "list", will be in Cincinnati today, writes Carlos Holmes.
The 5-foot-11, 210 pound Moreno is a complete running back. He may be best described as a Marshall Faulk type player.
Moreno is an explosively quick back with tremendous change-of-direction, balance and power. He shows patience to be an effective inside runner as well as the ability to run on the perimeter. He possesses natural pass catching skills and can split out as a receiver making him an every down back. The running back also does a nice job pass blocking.
Moreno played in pro style offense at Georgia and should be able to learn a system fairly quick. He shows great preparation and is a very charismatic and good natured.

If Monroe, Curry and J. Smith are not there, and they feel like Andre Smith’s workout did not go as well, and Michael Oher could be a reach, and is not polished enough to be picked at 6, then grab Moreno, who is a triple back. He can run with power, he can catch the ball, and he blocks. His long speed is pure garbage, but if you want a yard, he’ll get you 5.

Well… we probably do need another back. Aside from Ced all the RBs on the roster either have been constantly injured, have butterfingers, are 300 years old, or all of the above.
But all things considered you hate to draft a RB in the top 10. Even if they are the next AP… which they usually are not.

No way. There are no backs in this year’s draft worth a first round pick, period.

I think moreno might just barely be… but not a top 10.

Don’t need take him in the first round, and he won’t be there in the second.

First round running backs...
I’ve never been sure about taking a RB in the first round. Ever.

Moreno
Moreno is a stud and if we gave this guy blocking he would put up sick numbers.

RE:
Consider this. Drafting RB in the first round from 2002-2007. Some guys have had sensational years, but really, are they worth the cost of a first-round RB when many RBs are found often throughout all rounds in the draft.

5 to 10 years from now....
Bengal fans may be pissed if they pass on Moreno. He will be a star in this league.

That may very well be
but, with the sixth overall pick and with only the urgent need for a supplementary back to fill out a two back system, Moreno just doesn’t fit for us. Now, if we gain a later first round pick, either through a Chad trade or trading down, I’d entertain the idea at 25 or higher.
