Simpson
So Marvin was saying how it was their fault that they did not get Simpson involved last year to see what he could do. So when the draft came up they had no clue what they had in him. With the Bengals refusal to deal Chad, how do they expect him to get play time this year. Since he and Chad can both only play the X position, will he ride the bench again this year?

Risk it with Simpson instead of Henry
I think Jerome should get the chance to play. I would think that means Henry should go. Henry is not reliable and Simpson has the same potential, we just haven’t seen it because he hasn’t had the chance to play. I think they go with:
1. Chad
2. Coles
3. Caldwell
4. Simpson
5. Cosby
I don’t think they’ll keep 6 WR’s active since Coffman will be pretty involved in the pass game too.
If you don't live like you wanna, you live like you shouldn't
Cosby over Chatman, Simpson over Henry
If you don't live like you wanna, you live like you shouldn't
Henry is not reliable?
What do you mean?
I’m just saying…is there a statute of limitations on his previous transgressions? He kept clean after re-joining the team (of which I will be the first to say I was NOT a proponent!). He knows the offense, and we know what he can DO in this offense.
So, really…what do you mean? You think Chris Henry is going to be let go in favor of The Cosby Kid? Because that’s what you’re saying, effectively.
I’m not saying Jerome Simpson shouldn’t be given a chance to play…I just think that doing so shouldn’t be at the expense of a player who may well come back to haunt us BIG time if he’s allowed to go to another team after perhaps…perhaps…getting his head screwed on straight.
With Ocho and Coles reaching the end of their careers, I would hate to see us lose Henry. Maybe they are going to push Chad to step it up or give some of his PT to Simpson. Since they both play the same position, one will have to give.

....
Im comparing Henry to Simpson because in my view they are the same type of receivers. I don’t think Marvin is completely stupid and if he thought Simpson was a 2nd rounder then there’s gotta be something good about this kid. Im saying that Henry is not spectacular and is effectively inconsistent ON the field, not OFF. I’ve seen him drop some very catchable balls IN THE ENDZONE. Simpson has 1 year under Bratkowski and I think HE KNOWS the offense now. I think Chatman is going to be let go for Cosby because he isn’t as good a slot receiver as Cosby. Cosby has a ton of potential and he’ll learn the return game in a couple of months.
If you don't live like you wanna, you live like you shouldn't
I think Henry has proven he is reliable and can make big plays.
Slim gets a nod over Simpson and Cosby hands down. I am not saying don’t play him but come on.
I wouldn't say reliable
He’s a heartbeat from a suspension at any time.
Envy our past......Fear our future
This season of all seasons is the one we need to keep Henry involved. He’s been on his best behavior and working out with Carson all winter in Cali, which should have them coming into camp in sync and comfortable with each other. I look for a breakout season by Slim- maybe even overshadowing Doucho Cinco, provided the rest of the offense comes together to allow for deep patterns and whatnot. Chatman is the odd man out and I don’t see Cosby or the Utah kid being anything more than practice squad guys this year. Caldwell should have the return game locked and Simpson’s got better hands and height than Cosby. Not a chance in hell Henry isn’t the number three going into opening day. He might even be number two.

Simpson isn't really a speed guy
He’s got great hops and great hands but I see him as more of a TJ-type than either Slim or Doucho.

Theres going to be a dozen cameras each day at practice
Chad will be eatin it all up. He’ll be talking it up and if we’re lucky, backin it up with hard work and great catches.
