Is Willie Anderson a Hall-of-Famer?
I'd like to think so. He was a stalwart at tackle his entire career. He never won the big game, but do tackles have to? He was one of (if not the best) the premier tackles of his generation. I'm certainly pulling for him.
Oy, I guess I need more words for this to be a FanPost. Let's take a look at some of the important achievements of Willie's career:
Missed a total of 27 games in his 13 NFL seasons, including his rookie season. He played in 181 of the 208 possible games his teams played in during his career.
Went to the Pro-Bowl from 2003-2007.
First-team All Pro from 2004-2006. Second team All Pro in 2003.

I was hoping for the stat nerds to dig up some material on other HOF lineman.

If he doesn't make the Hall of Fame
Willie should be one of the biggest reasons that the Bengals should have A Ring of Honor or something.

Well, we have several guys, but Willie is the biggest -- get it?

Tough one
I think if he manages to come up in a weak group, or there’s a big push for guys from something other than the marquee skill positions, he’ll have a shot. He was widely recognized as one of the best RT of his era, and his lack of pro bowl appearances were mainly due to the fact that the Bengals were typically horrible most of the time. I just don’t know if that’s enough without the big time exposure of some playoff wins.
Sorry Willie
Like Bama, I feel that he was a very good player, and I wish this team could’ve done better by him.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t have enough accolades. 4 pro bowls, 1 AFC championship game. Had Willie been a better team, and made it to the playoffs more than twice, he MIGHT have a shot.
