PrintWould anyone be interested in putting one of these togther? Just do a auto draft league (or live draft if everyone wants) for bragging rights. If need be, we could do multiple leagues if we have enough people. Just an idea, post below if you would be interested and if you would want to do a live or autopick draft. If you guys already do this, let me know.

I think with the fact that there are not many people that really know each other in real life here, cash might be something that would be harder to pull off. In terms of any honors on the site, we would probably need to talk to Kirkendall on that one.

I’m not opposed to putting some faces to names…though I might be alone on that?

Bengals Memorabilia?
I might be up for a fantasy league here. I do one with people at work and it’s fun. Football is the only one I have interest or time for. Who can keep up with baseball fantasy leagues? Crazy!
Anyway, I was thinking keep the prize bengals related, so everyone offers something up for the winner. I’ve done superbowl pools and such where 5 good cigars were the wager, so money doesn’t always need to be involved.
I’m an artist and would put up a hand painted player portrait of the winners choice as my wager, cause I don’t live in Cincy and don’t have much Bengals gear. Try finding anythng with Bengals Logos in the middle of Giants/Jets/Bills country.
I, too, don't live in the area...
…so I guess I need to amend my earlier post to say I was thinking about a “Live Online” draft!
As far as what we’re wagering, as soon as money gets involved, my teams inevitably head straight for the crapper, so I’m down with the idea of getting a guest writing gig if I win…except I just thought about something…
We all like barbeque, right? My idea is…everybody go to your favorite Q restaurant in whatever town you live in (I’m in Nashville…also make regular trips to Memphis, where they know a little bit about BBQ…no comments about what they may or may not know about taking other people’s SATs, Iggy J!) and buy a bottle of their signature BBQ sauce. Whoever wins the league gets a very nice collection of BBQ sauces from places all over the country that can be enjoyed for the entire next season whilst watching Hard Knocks reruns on NFL Network!

I'm interested
But I detest auto-drafts and I won’t play for money or with IDPs. If that’s what everybody else wants I’ll wish you a lot of fun but I’ll bow out. I might consider the BBQ idea, maybe… but I’m still not terribly keen on it.
So far
we have about 9 interested, which is getting close to a league. Auto draft seems to be out (I don’t really like them either) and we need to figure out something as a prize.
We could do something similar to a secret Santa gift. Everyone gets to choose what they want to put up for the prize, but keep it reasonable in terms of price- say 10 or 15 bucks.

As long as we agree upon what the parameters are. Yea we should definitely do a live draft. What type of Fantasy league would it be yahoo, espn, or another?
Again, I like ESPN...
Been in the same ESPN league at my work since 2003 (three-time champion of a 12-team IDP league…fair warning!) and have played both ESPN and Yahoo! leagues for the last three years. For some reason, Yahoo! seems to think we still like paying for live scoring updates, whereas ESPN puts that all up for free. They seem to make improvements to the interface every year.
And I’m fine with D/ST leagues, too, if IDPs are going to chase anybody off. It’s all for fun (and BBQ sauce?), after all…

Because I think this would
be a secondary league for a lot of people, I would like to stick with the D/ST leagues. And if ESPN does live stat tracking for free, I am all about that.

WE WILL NOT GO ABOVE 14 TEAMS. 12 is best, 14 is the max that you want in a league. IMO at least. After 14 we will try to get a second league set up if we can.

Ok, so I have set things up, but I need peoples emails to send out invites. Because I don’t think people want to post their emails on the blog, I have created one specifically for the fantasy league. Send the email that you would like the invite sent to along with your blog name so I know who it is, and I will get the invites out.

I am resending the invites to the people under the first category. People in the second PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL to that address. The sooner we get everyone in the sooner we can nail down a draft date and iron out any issues.
