Bengals Trade for RB
According to bengals.com we traded Orien Harris to the Rams for a RB...
If that link doesn't work, he was Brian Leonard, a 2nd rounder the same year we took Kenny Irons (Leonard went 3 picks later). He spent last year on IR with a shoulder injury and is pretty much projected as a 3rd down back for us.

i just saw this too
Bengals acquired FB/RB Brian Leonard from the Rams in exchange for DT Orien Harris.
A no-frills runner when healthy, Leonard showed promise as a rookie in 2007 but has since battled chronic shoulder woes. He only played fullback last year. Leonard will compete as a hybrid player and isn’t a threat to Cedric Benson. He does have some third-down value, but lacks breakaway speed.

HAHA...that door will live in infamy...
I am excited that the Bengals are deciding to become players in the NFL once again.
They seem to be trying a little harder than before.

Mm-hmm...
Yeah, we’re already used to that, just like you all were used to it before you all went out and bought Boston Celtics caps and ran over ‘em with your pickup trucks 50 times to make it look like all y’all were Celtics fans in the womb.
He’s not leaving. You have your Pitino clone…finally. Be happy.

If I remember correctly, I think that he also played some full back at Rutgers in front of Ray Rice of the Ravens.
If he is healthy, this seems like a good move.
Orien Harris was going to be lucky to make the team as it was.
I wonder if we sent them draft picks in addition.

He did
Leonard was considered to be a stud after his junior year (even promoted as a heisman candidate), but took a backseat his senior year as Ray Rice became the go to guy. Leonard still got a ton of touches, and led the way blocking for Rice as RU went on to an 11-2 season.
He never complained or whined about the spotlight being taken away from him. He’s a great character guy, and is a bruising back when healthy.
Solid pick-up.

agreed. I thought he was a good prospect. Don’t know how his injury situation works out now, but coming out of college I thought he was a good pick. It does seem like there’s an awful lot of RBs on the roster now, though. DeDe Dorsey back to the practice squad, until someone else takes him away again? What about Johnson? Cut? They still have Benson, Watson, Scott, and Lucky, plus the FBs JJohnson, Vakapuna, Runnels, and Pressley.
So how will it shake out? Lucky, Jeremi Johnson, and Runnels cut, Dorsey to the practice squad and signed by someone else? Sadly I expect Watson will be cut again. At least now they’re trying to bring in talent instead of saying “Chris Perry will be the guy” year after year.

I hope they go with Benson, Leonard, and then Scott or Johnson. With the other one going to the squad. Our full back should johnson or Fui. This would give us two power backs, a small back with speed and a fullback that can block and catch. This should match well with the other teams.

i want to know what the heck the rams are thinking we just traded a guy who has been cut by four teams in the NFL for a secound round player. And i pretty good one at that it was not like this guy was a bust he got stuck behind steven jackson. Why the drafted him in the first place i will never know but im happy.

It is most likely because
They were intending to cut Leonard but decided to shop hiim around and the best offer was Orien Harris.

I am expecting a RB cut coming up soon
Hopefully it isn’t Kenny

Cut?
Let’s bundle a couple of ’em up and make some more trades instead!

These guys are going to be free agents
why would someone trade a player for someone that will be available on waivers( unless your the Rams).

RB's to keep
In order of importance.
1. Cedric Benson
2. Bernard Scott
3. Marlon Lucky
4. Brian Leanord (as a RB/FB tweener)
5. Fui (FB)
