Rosenhaus: Chad Johnson in best shape of his career and very motivated
Via PFT -- only because I don't sit here reading every celebrity twitter account -- Drew Rosenhaus writes that Chad Johnson "has been working overtime this offseason with his training. He is in the best shape of his career & very motivated.” In a lot of ways, he needs to be. He's getting older. He's stuck in Cincinnati. He has a legacy to protect. He has an injury to heal.
And no, I'm not suckered by an agent that we've called Oil Slick in the past who is showering his Twitter account with glowing client updates. Still, if it's remotely true, and Johnson comes back to old form, while being "very motivated" there's absolutely no ceiling that can contain this offense.

i hope he just plays
the only way for him to get more money is to play. brown is not going to trade him and chad knows it. he has 2 years left on the contract and if he wants another big deal he will have to shape up and play to his highest potential……which is really good when he does

I don't believe a word that comes out of Rosenhaus' mouth.
It might be true, but I will believe it when someone more reputable says it or when I see it on the field.
It's still a good season if we go 2-14 and beat the Steelers twice.

Does that mean he's motivated to be...
… A good teammate? How about being a Bengal?

I'd settle for him not being a distraction.
Here’s what I think is going on, as it’s certain there is a masterful plot unfolding before our very eyes.
There’s a ton of new (and just new to the bengals) talent already in place.
There’s a solid core of returning vets.
Then there’s a prima donna WR that thinks about #85 first and everything else second.
So how do you get this attention whore to perform? You put a camera on him 24-7. You let him talk away to the camera about how great he is and what he’s going to do.
Enter “Hard Knocks”. #85 will be so preoccupied trying to make himself look wonderful on camera he will actually train harder. Try harder during practice. Play harder during the games.
But again, if the distraction of the cameras can be fed the distraction which is #85, then the plan comes together like it’s the A-Team.

He will be what he is...
I’ll settle for causing doube-team for the opposing defenses. Gotta help the other receivers?

I’d trade all the personal training in the world for him having worked out with Carson, Henry, Coles, and the youngsters all summer. Oh, that’s right, he didn’t do that. Douch-O Bag-O.

Time for another list...
Marvin ought to put another “Can you cover 85” list in his locker, but the only one who can check the boxes ought to be Marvin himself.
12 checkmarks on the list, Chad, and we’ll consider your trade value high enough to get you out of Dodge. Less than 12, and you’re stuck here until nobody (including Mike Brown) wants you anymore.
Deal?

If you can’t trust Oil Slick, who can you trust?

Maybe we can get Bolden for 85
If they need some cash to boot… The teeth outa count for something..
Better make the deal before Roy Willams doe some dental work on him in training camp…
Seriously if the guy comes and plays he can be an asset. He can;t complain that we haven’t tried like hell to improve this off season..
If he’s a problem let him rot on the bench..I hope Brown never gives in to these premadonna’s…
If he’s a real problem theres always the Roy Williams attidude adjustment option

Chad will show up...
as soon as the camera’s do…..CUT, let’s get Mr. Ochocinco into the make up chair and powder his nose. OK, Roll’em ! ACTION !……..“85” : Is it too much to ask for you to get ready for some ACTION on the field ? Since you’re not going anywhere, why not be prepared to play some football and you’d better deliver this season as you have no excuse.

Chad Fan
Look guys, he holds just about every relevant Bengal’s receiving record and when things are good we all love the guy! The guy is going to have a killer year, he has to or any future pay day goes down in flames.
