Does Kenny Watson even get a chance?
I am getting tired of Lewis not using Kenny at all. Last season when Perry was diving to the ground to avoid contact and he brought in Cedric Benson I was shocked that Watson didn't get any touches. In '07 Kenny was a force when Rudi was injured and no one wanted to step-up and make a play. It was Kenny's perseverance that kept Cincy in those games. We owe him a chance at 3rd down back.

I couldn't agree with you more.
I never understood last season the lack of Kenny Watson in our offense, especially after the year he had with us just a season prior. I think he would be a great compliment to Benson in our backfield but it wouldn’t surprise me if he gets cut. It would be a bad move, but I guess one bad in an off-season of shockingly good ones is somewhat excusable.
I think there is more behind this than we know. It seemed like Marvin was ready to have him split carries with Perry last year but he in an interview I saw Lewis almost sounded like his performance in practice started going down hill quickly. They have always loved having him on the team. There has to be some reason they are bringing in so many possible replacements.
i agree, they are stocking up on rb's like its a fantasy draft
but ill take it, hopefully they can judge who best is
competiton
So much competition at RB now and it is a good thing for everyone. Kenny will get a shot to stick and I think he will.
watson
Over the last few years Watson seems to be the one consistent RB. When Rudi Cedric are getting their 3.5 ypc, Watson chugs away at 4.0+ despite the limited action.
For some reason the management just doesn’t seem to like Watson in the same way the fans seem too.
Training camp & preseason are so long & injuries are always looming (K Carter, K Irons), that having the RB depth isn’t a bad thing, because if guys get hurt in camp, you’ve got replacements….But…..the Bengals tend to foreshadow their moves, so i think the drafting of 2 RB’s + the pickup of Russell (and drop of Russell) and trade for Leonard will signal the cut of Watson before camp ends.
