Carson Palmer Speaks With Ed Werder
Our fearless -- and hopefully injury-free -- quarterback spoke with ESPN's Ed Werder the other day as the Worldwide Leader gears us up for opening of Training Camp, now just a mere eight days away. Georgetown, Kentucky, ya'll. What's up? Before I go on, I'm guessing Werder was slumming, because he's normally the go-to guy for all things Dallas Cowboys. Seeing him talk to Carson Palmer like he was Tony Romo's equal was weird.
Anyway, what did we learn? Palmer calls Chris Henry "Randy Moss Lite," and when you consider Henry's ability, the comparison sticks. Hopefully, it won't put too much pressure on the oft-maligned receiver. Speaking of, it's been nice not seeing Henry's name in the police blotters this summer. Hopefully, I didn't speak too soon right there. We also learned Palmer has no intention of letting Ocho stay with him and his family this summer.
Something along the lines of he already has enough children to deal with -- mind you, Carson said this with a grin.
Oh, and Palmer has plans of playing more than 16 games this season. Something about a postseason run came up, but, you know, this IS the Bengals we are talking about. The words "playoffs" and "Bengals" don't necessarily go hand-in-hand -- but he did put it out there. Hopefully, the rest of the team is willing to put the necessary work in, allowing them to follow Carson to the postseason.
What stood out to you?

I understand why ...
Carson has for months given props to Chris Henry. But for some reason I’m uneasy with it. As an adult, I doubt Henry’s gone more than a week without “messing up” in some way. He’s been arrested what, 6 or 7 times since age 18? As a pro, he’s realized maybe 50 percent of his talent … the other 50 percent falling victim to his personal demons. I’d almost rather he give the Henry the ‘Chad treatment’ and stay quiet. Let’s first make Henry prove he’s the person Carson says he is … then shower him with props.
I thought Ed Werder was only allowed to report on the Cowboys
