Positition Battles: 2nd RB
The Bengals need a RB to back up the Cow bell Cedric Benson. In my opinion the top contenders are Brian Leonard( one of the best athletes i've ever seen), Kenny Watson( a player who has shown durability and had a sucessful stint as a starter in '07) and Dede Dorsey( a speed black who has made enormous plays whenever he's gotten a chance). I am predicting that the two losers will be cut. I will put up some tape for you guys to watch

I remember being very impressed with Dorsey that first preseason. If I remember right he was on the practice squad for a while, then the Colts picked him up. I was glad when the Bengals got him back, but I don’t have confidence in him as a full-time RB. He’s very quick, good at breaking out into the open, but he doesn’t have the strength or durability to be more than a rare situational player.
I liked Leonard coming out of college, and he’s looked somewhat interesting so far. Maybe he’ll pan out.
I’ve sung the praises of Watson loudly and often. He’s dependable, quick, strong, everything you want out of a RB. He’s always been behind someone on the depth chart, but Cedric Benson is the first one that boggles me. Benson has never shown anything as a feature back.

i dont think we can depend on Leonard
He was traded from the Rams who didnt have a backup RB at the time. Then they trade Orien Harris for a washed up WR. They never wanted Harris. They just wanted to get rid of Leonard. So why would a team let a good player go for a player they didnt want? It just dosnt happen.
But hopefully he can stay healthy and produce for the Bengals

Scott
Scott might just end up being the #2 back if things pan out. He’s already drafted and signed, so I think the coaching staff really thinks that they can use him. He’s really talented and if he can stay out of trouble, then I think he’ll be our best option as a third down back.
This is our year!
