Andre Caldwell "expected" to be used in Wildcat
When people try to point out fans optimism from last year, they often neglect several things. Such as Carson Palmer going down. Such as a change with the team's feature back with one of the more disappointing players during the Marvin Lewis era. Chad Johnson's attitude. Leading the league with players on Injured Reserve. The Ravens and Steelers being the two best teams, not just in the division, but the entire conference. It's not an excuse. That's just fact. And if you want to rip against other Bengals fans for being optimistic, then so be it. But don't be foolish and short-sighted enough to neglect everything else in the middle -- that's both trivial and childish. Worry and complain about the team, not other people that support and cheer your (supposedly) favorite NFL team.
Now that teams are aware of it, and now that defenses are working on defending against it, Alex Marvez wonders where the Wildcat goes from here. Chick Ludwig writes that Andre Caldwell is "expected" to be used in a Wildcat role.
A Bengals fan writes a letter to Steelers fans.
Geoff Hobson reacts to Steve McNair's death.
Jon Webb says that Chad Johnson (Ochocinco) should stop playing games and just play ball.
The league will conduct the Supplemental Draft on July 16. Three players that have a chance of being selected, writes Gil Brandt, are Kansas State WR Deon Murphy, Western Kentucky LB Blake Boyde and Southern Mississippi WR Torris Magee.
The UFL is offering "one-year, $35,000 deals with the chance to make $15,000 more in playing-time incentives pretty much 'across the board,'" Jason La Canfora writes that "Punters, kickers and long snappers are being offered $25,000 for the six-game schedules" and that "the number being tossed around to agents for maximum starting QB compensation was $100,000." He continues to say that "the base salary for QBs will be $10,000 per week, which is $60,000 for the season (thanks, Rachel). Gary also pointed out that the league will be paying for housing for the players."

Jesus...how embarrassing
If a dirt poor, third-world country slings insults at the United States do we really care? Welcome to life as a Steelers fan. What, if anything at all, can the Who-Deyers(Lame, please move on) say to really stick it to their fanbase? In some bizzaro world they might be jealous of our 4 win seasons and the merry band of jackasses Brown Family, but not this one.
“You suck Super Bowl Champions!”
Love,
The “One playoff appearance since 1990” Cincinnati Bengals
Booyah. We got ’em.
A salient point, however,
is that it is easy to be a Steeler fan. I’d like to see some stats on how Steeler fan attendance was before the 1970s, when the Steelers were the worst franchise in the league. Us BEngals fans have had our humble pie for a few decades, I think it is about time to change things up. If the Red Sox can win the world series a few times, I think anything is possible, even a 21st century dominated by the once pathetic Bengals. Here’s to hope! Who Dey!

Bengals fans take it too personally. There’s only one difference: Mrs. Rooney pooped out a baby with class and intelligence. Mrs. Brown pooped out a baby destined to be one of the most egomanical retards professional sports has ever seen. Aside from that, is Pittsburgh more blue collar or passionate than Cincy? What’s the difference? Luck of the draw. And that’s exactly what makes their success and our futility all the more maddening.
Not to be the party pooper, but do we yet see the irony in the “Who Dey” chant? It’s been quite a few teams who have thought they can beat the Bengals then gone ahead and done it the last I checked. Let’s forgo stale, irrelevant slogans and towels and win some games already.
we have a wildcat formation?
that must be the re-write to our outstanding playbook… who’s calling the plays?? Oh, the same a-hole from last year who called plays like my little sister playing madden for the first time. With all the speculation that flys around this time of year, here’s something we know is fact: No matter what our O-line does, no matter how good those WR route’s are, hell it does not even matter what our RB ypc average is.. if our play calling stays the same, expect a repeat of a season on offense.

OF COURSE WE HAVE A WILDCAT FORMATION!
Just like every other team now has one, or at least that’s the kind of chaffe you want to spread out there. Misinformation. The factor of having to stop looking at last week’s game film of your opponent and practice against this “new” offensive scheme.
It’s brilliant. It’s inflatable tanks in England 4 months before D-Day.
