Under the Fantasy Radar?
While we here in the Cincy Jungle and our players in the Orange and Black have overflowing amounts of confidence and pre-season swagger going into next season, it seems that most in the media world disregard us as Fantasy duds next year.
Take espn.com's fantasy previews.

1. Drew Brees, Saints
2. Tom Brady, Patriots
3. Peyton Manning, Colts
Tier 2
4. Kurt Warner, Cardinals
5. Aaron Rodgers, Packers
6. Philip Rivers, Chargers
Tier 3
7. Tony Romo, Cowboys
8. Matt Ryan, Falcons
9. Matt Schaub, Texans
10. Donovan McNabb, Eagles
Tier 4
11. Matt Cassel, Chiefs
12. Jay Cutler, Bears
13. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers
14. Carson Palmer, Bengals
15. Eli Manning, Giants
My jaw dropped when I saw this. Carson Palmer is barely listed above Eli Manning. Ok, I know that the guy was injured last year, but he's not dead and anybody who has a pulse ought to beat out Eli in fantasy football. Putting Palmer there is both disrespectful and humiliating to us as fans, but as fantasy football players, it's 5 round draft gold.

1. Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals
2. Andre Johnson, Texans

Tier 4
30. Jerricho Cotchery, Jets
31. Donald Driver, Packers
32. Torry Holt, Jaguars
33. Laveranues Coles, Bengals
34. Lance Moore, Saints
I don't want to beat a dead horse here, but Braylon Edwards beat out Ocho? Since 2005, the Bengals Offense hadn't finished lower that 10th and Ocho hadn't had less than 1300 yds and 7 tds. Plus, Coles has got to be better than Torry Holt with Chad drawing double teams and a healthy Carson Palmer.
or Team Defense http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/football/ffl/story?page=nfldk2k9dstpreview
Tier 4
24. Buffalo Bills
25. Jacksonville Jaguars
26. Cleveland Browns
27. New Orleans Saints
28. St. Louis Rams
29. Denver Broncos
30. Cincinnati Bengals
31. Kansas City Chiefs
32. Detroit Lions
Ok, defense is pretty random in Fantasy football, but in overall yards last year, the Bengals had the 12th ranked defense, and by most accounts, they only got better in the offseason. Yet we are barely above the Lions. The Lions!
Given these poor fantasy projections, my question for all of you, is which Bengals are you going to draft in your Fantasy Football teams this year? Who's got the most value as a sleeper and who's the most likely to be in the top 10 in fantasy points? Who's the most likely Bengal that will make a fantasy splash that nobody has ever heard of?

Draft picks
I’m grabbing Chris Henry hoping he is a TD machine this year, maybe Benson as a back up.

Carson
I usually don’t take QBs early and having Carson down that low is a joke. At worse he’s as good a fantasy player as Schaub or McNabb. At best he’s in the top tier. He will be a steal.
I don’t mind Chad being that low. I had him for a few years and he is very very streaky, even when he was at the top of his game. One week he’s fantasy gold, the next he catches two passes. I do like Coles being a steal where he’s positioned. He should have the same production as last year with Favre.
One sleeper I had last year who busted was Utecht. I HOPE he does something this year. He may go undrafted and could be a steal for TE.

My list
I’m in a keeper league on espn.com, so the three players that I’m keeping from last year are Greg Jennings, Marion Barber and Frank Gore. Here are my thoughts on Bengals Players.
Carson Palmer – I’ve heard a lot of adjectives thrown around that supposedly describe Palmer like “injury Prone” “Fragile” or “Question Mark.” However, I’m not really sure that any of these are fair. Before last season he played three straight years without missing a single game (if you don’t count the knee injury in the post season of ‘05). It looks like he won’t be going with the premier QB’s this year, meaning he’ll be drafted in the mid to late rounds. I might pick him up as my #1 QB if I get a chance.
Chad Ochocinco – Of all the Bengals players, I think his stock has dropped the most. He’s turned 31, played the entirety of last season and still sucked up the fantasy world (I drafted him last year and kept him on my bench the whole year). But he’s looking strong again and with Carson back I think he’ll be productive again. I’ll definitely look at drafting him as my #2 WR
Coles – This could be an interesting pickup. At best I think that he could be a top 20 WR. I think he’ll get plenty of catches, but I don’t know if he’ll be a big red zone threat with Henry and Ocho on either side of him. His production will depend on whether or not he gets TD’s.
Benson – Here’s a guy who though I don’t completely trust, I have to concede he’ll be a viable #2 RB. The telling stat about Benson is his paltry 3.5 yds per carry last year. Combine that with only one touchdown and you have to wonder how he’s on anybody’s fantasy radar. however, he is going to be used as the feature back here, and I expect him to get goaline carries. I expect him to consistently put up 80 yds and a touchdown every week or two if the offense is coming together. Since he’s likely to fall to the middle/late rounds of fantasy drafts, I would be happy with him as my #3 behind Barber and Gore.
Chris Henry – I think his production is going to depend on the overall success of the offense. If we are able to move the chains unlike last year, I think Henry could be viabe #3 fanasy receiver. If we struggle on offense like we did last year then I don’t see a ton of touches coming his way. If I don’t draft Chad then I’ll look at Henry as a possible #3 wideout. He’s the kind of guy that could be a great play against weaker defenses like KC, Denver and Oakland. I don’t think that I would waste a draft pick on him though since I don’t think he’ll be drafted at all in most leagues.
Ben Utecht – I doubt the guy will get drafted in most leagues so I don’t think that I’ll need to be worried about using a draft pick to get him. if he does start producing then I’ll look at my options.
This is our year!
