UPDATE: Palmer looks good in agility drills, but no reports of him actually practicing

Literally minutes after it became known that the Bengals and Andre Smith finally came to an agreement, Joe Reedy tweets that Carson Palmer is returning to practice for the first time since having sprained his ankle against the New Orleans Saints.

Palmer is still putting that call whether to play or not on the trainers. But we suspect that this is a good first step. With three practices left before the team's preseason finale, Palmer could work this week in preparation with some last minute work so he won't be totally rusty, missing nearly a month before the team kicks off the season against the Denver Broncos.

Sundays are awesome. Can I get a hell yes?

UPDATE: Maybe the hell yes was premature. Reedy updates: "Palmer in jersey but doing rehab on a side field". The official Bengals Twitter writes: "Palmer doing agility drills on side moving pretty good." No news on whether Palmer is actually practicing.

Keeps getting better

The last 12 hours have been great for Bengals fans. Rumors Andre was getting signed, then it became official. Now Carson is back at practice. Whats next?

Anybody else really satisfied with the rookies we have coming in?

If they don’t get cut we have:

Quan Cosby
Tom Nelson
Rey Rey
Andre
Fai
Michael Johnson
Luigs (I actually haven’t seen much of this guy)
Chase “Crash Dummy” Coffman
Huber
Bernard Scott
Morgan Trent

Rey, Johnson, Andre, Chase, and Scott all have tremendous upside. Tom Nelson is mean and a go getter- gotta love his work ethic. Huber’s punts in the preseason have all been a huge upgrade over Larson- he was worth the 5th pick. Quan looks like he’ll make the team and get the PR job. I know we say this a lot of years- but if these guys pan out it could be the best draft Marvin Lewis has had in Cincy.

Hell yea!

Also, anybody else feel like he’d be playing if it were regular season? I don’t think this is really any sorta problem

i don’t think there’s really any question he’d be playing if it were the regular season. i’m pretty sure he continued playing for a while in the game he injured it.

Nope he came right out against NO.

Or were you referring to his arm last year? In which case yeah he did, the blitz that got him hurt was in the first half if I recall correctly…
