Bengals intra-squad scrimmage tonight; Dhani Jones leaves Georgetown; Ndukwe to be in Lexington on Saturday
Geoff Hobson previews tonight's intra-squad scrimmage.
Dhani Jones left camp to attend the funeral of former Eagles defensive coordinator, Jim Johnson.
Bruce Coslet says that Carson Palmer could "help Zimmer’s defense more than any one guy.”
Chinedum Ndukwe will be in Lexington this Saturday. "Ndukwe has partnered with Whole Foods Market in the Kentucky and Ohio region in an effort to improve the health and wellness of the surrounding communities."
Former Bengals wide receiver -- the third WR drafted in the 2008 NFL Draft -- Mario Urrutia signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
As we learn that the Bengals are trying to low-ball Andre Smith, Tyson Jackson, the third overall draft pick, will receive $31 million guaranteed over five years with a total value of $57 million. No one really knows what to say about the Michael Crabtree, will he sit out 2009, situation.

Urrutia
As a Louisville fan, it still confounds me that somebody who had THAT much promise in college would leave after his junior year (rather than growing and maturing for one more season)…only to be picked next-to-Irrelevant and spend his time on the practice squad. I hope it works out for him in Tampa.
work it out in TAMPA
I agree with you TheWalrus1971, I also hope that he will make it to TAMPA for his own sake and career, he might not be the good player we’ve been wanted but let us see if he deserves it. Also, Michael Crabtree, a wide receiver picked up as 10th in the draft by the San Francisco 49ers, has failed to report to training camp. Michael Crabtree, according to agent Eugene Parker, was unsatisfied in the contract he was offered, as the top pick in the draft, Darrius Hayward-Bey, got $23.5 million from the Raiders. Crabtree was a standout at Texas Tech, and scored a 15 on the Wonderlic, an aptitude/intelligence test administered to NFL players and in other industries, which qualifies him to push a broom. (A 20 is average intelligence, only 2 NFL players have come close to 50, both Harvard alumni.) Michael Crabtree is prepared to sit out until 2010, and he might need some instant payday loans.
