DLine lookin to bring some pain.....

Fellow WhoDey-ers,

I don't think this Bengal DLine is getting enough credit for its performance this past Sunday.  One thing Josh McDaniels had going for him was a gift wrapped Top-10 OLine from Mike Shanahan.  If I'm not mistaken, Shanahan produced a 1000 yard rusher in each season of his tenure.  And, how else does Jay Cutler throw for 4500+ yards last season???

With some mixed fronts, the Bengals DLine was able to create some pressure and keep the run in check.  Holding the Bronco backfield to a collective 75 yards rushing is nothing to sneeze at.  I can't remember many times the Bengals were able to accomplish such a feat.  Antwan Odom played to his paycheck coming up with 2 huge Sacks, each in 3rd down scenarios, one of which backed Denver out of FG range and setup the Bengals lone TD drive.  Jon Fanene showed a little speed off the edge to come up with the Bengals 1st of 3 Sacks on the day.

Not a bad showing against one of the better OLines they'll have to face this season, if you ask me.  Hell, take away the BS@PBS and they really only gave up 140 yards passing albeit to Kyle Orton.  Crappy QB notwithstanding, the Broncos still have that OLine and the Marshall/Stokely/Royal/Scheffler receiving corps.

So....as an advocate for the Bengals Trenchwarriors, I shall not only salute their Week 1 efforts, but offer you the CincyJungle fans two important tidbits of info that need paid attention to:

#1)  As earlier mentioned by Kirk - getting a head start.  Hungry, angry defensive lineman foregoing their only day off and putting in overtime....that's what i'm talking about.  Said Domata Peko, "No coaches, just DLineman....we want to get a head start ... and see what these Packer OLineman are doing"

'atta boy......ATTACK.

AND

#2)  From the Packers website:

O-LINE LOOKS TO REBOUND
- After a substandard showing Sunday night against the Bears, the Packers offensive line will look to rebound this weekend against Cincinnati.

- QB was under duress early and often and a safety was among the four sacks he took.

- "Our protection unit did not play well, and that was a major cause for our frustration and our inability to move the football," McCarthy said Monday afternoon. "The Bears defensive line did a very good job getting after our front, and we did not handle it very well."

The main negative vibe in cheese country is the sub-par play of the Packer OLine.  Clearly, Peko and his homies are aware of this.  With a TANK looking to get his plow on, and multiple ends that can fly off the edges, my favorite position group is looking to exploit the hell out of some fools this Sunday.

Calling Pat Sims......

GET AFTER THAT QUARTERBACK!!!!!!
