Cincinnati Bengals announce the 2009 Practice Squad; welcome back Chris Pressley
On Sunday afternoon, the Cincinnati Bengals announced the team's practice squad, Tweets Joe Reedy. One of those players is beloved fullback Chris Pressley, who impressed the hell out of fans and coaches for his physicality during Hard Knocks and the preseason. Jason Shirley also returns with the Cincinnati Bengals, who is learning how to play guard and likely Marvin Lewis' newest pet project. After playing sparingly in 2008 as a rookie, Corey Lynch joins the practice squad.
Other practice squad signees are Tight End Darius Hill, Running back James Johnson, Defensive Tackle Clinton McDonald and Linebacker Dan Skuta. Here's the complete list:
| FB | Chris Pressley |
| WR | Maurice Purify |
| OG | Jason Shirley |
| TE | Darius Hill |
| S | Corey Lynch |
| RB | James Johnson |
| DT | Clinton McDonald |
| LB | Dan Skuta |

I am too
But at the expense of who? Skuta? Pressley? Tough call shows the Bengals are deep.

Disappointed by Fui not on the squad
No kidding. I don’t get why we would keep Jeremi Johnson on the team roster.
We’ve had him for a while now. And we haven’t been able to move the ball with him back there blocking, so I’m not understanding how we keep him with all his being overweight coming into trainin camp, always being injured and out of ship issues.
Fui and Chris Pressley would have been much better to keep and develop. I realize Chris got on the practice squad, but it makes more sense that you would put him on the team, since you have Brian Leonard who can play fullback and running back.
I really thought Fui was a lock. But what do I know, I’m only a die hard fan that has watched us not be able to run the ball forever. And that was with Johnson. What was I thinking!!!!

i like every single player on our PS
if any of these guys made the final roster, none of us would have been upset

I pretty much like them all but I most like to see Pressley and Shirley on that list. I just hope they don’t get snatched by somebody else right before we end up needing them (because you just know we will at some point).

Glad Pressley is back
I’m glad the organization decided to bring him back. He’s a solid blocker and if Johnson doesn’t stay healthy he would be a respectable fill-in.
