Bengals have a Pro Bowl representative: Chad Ochocinco makes his sixth Pro Bowl
Chad Ochocinco caught 72 passes for 1,047 yards receiving in 2009. Comparatively speaking, these are Chad's lowest numbers since his 69-reception, 1,166-yard receiving season in 2002 -- we're not including 2008 where he missed three games due to injury. On the other hand, Chad's nine touchdowns receiving in 2009 is one touchdown away from matching a career high 10 touchdowns in 2003 and it's the most touchdowns he's recorded in a season since 2005.
Regardless, Chad wasn't named to this year's Pro Bowl team because other receivers had better seasons. Then Wes Welker's knee was shredded up during the Patriots final regular season game and he was placed on Injured Reserve, freeing up a spot on the Pro Bowl roster. And Chad was named as his replacement.
This will be Chad's sixth Pro Bowl appearance of his career. He was named to the AFC squad for five straight seasons (2003-2007) when his string was broken after a poor 2008 season (thanks to an overall dreadful offense). Now he's back on track.

Hey! I just broke this story!
Lolz. They’re just letting him in because the NFL knows people will watch the game JUST to see him play – shenanigans and all. He’s a ratings grab, and nothing more. Sure, he had a good season on the field, but his personality and cult following off the field is what’s getting him a place on the AFC roster this year.

He doesn't deserve it.

Well, Leon, Johnathan and Cedric did deserve it, and they were snubbed
…so we’re (reasonably close to) even, as far as I’m concerned.

Hi everyone… I have to say that Chad is firmly one of my favourite players. Yes, he’s a gobshite and yes, he’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I’ve really impressed with him this year – how he handled himself after Slim’s tragedy and the way, after repeatedly being pretty much the only receiving threat we have, he managed to rack up those numbers. Fair play to you Chad and congratulations. Now, next year… make sure you and Carson are on the same page. All the best, from London, England.

Ocho
He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is

By the way, I watched 85’s favorite Denzil film, The Great Debaters, today. Really an outstanding movie !

Carsonorbust… I’ve been a Bengals fan since ‘87! It’ just I haven’t found these sort of blogs and stuff until this year. Honestly, this site is a godsend for those Bengals fans, like me, living abroad. Anyway, fair play to Chad and congratulations to Marvin (another thread, I know).
